Cliffs Notes: Diamondbacks are floating a proposal to the Arizona legislature for a new law allowing them to divert a portion of sales taxes generated at Diamondbacks games back into renovations and repairs to Chase Field. They cite they are modeling this to a similar law currently in place for the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona previously set up another law (for the Diamondbacks) allowing for the establishment of a "theme park district" but ownership decided they (paraphrasing) "didn't want to put more hardship on the fans".
