I see Teemu has extended his Twitter handle to discuss American politics in English now too. He's been doing that for a while in Finnish and the media over here is having a field trip over his tweets and it guarantees a great news day for them. I'm sure this will go well now and in the future.

People are surprised a rich former athlete leans to the right? Lol

Also, who cares
Exactly.

Usually the only qualification these people have is being famous which they achieved by winning a genetic lottery, that pertains to having certain physical traits to succeed in whatever sports they participate, and working hard perfecting those traits. These, of course, makes them no more qualified to speak on societal and political issues and problems than a random person standing on some corner and yelling, however due to their famous status their voice is amplified and taken more seriously than it should be.

My interest in athletes completely stops once they exit the arena they're competing in.

There's a lot wrong with this so I'll just point out the most obvious one.

Palmieri was not given any chance when he was here. He was stuck on the depth chart behind Perry and Silfverberg. He did well on the third line and consistently showed he could perform in a top 6 role if given the opportunity - but that never happened here.

The moment he was given the opportunity on another team he showed what everyone (other than you, apparently) already knew.

It's fine to disagree on things, but when you're wrong, you're wrong. And you? You're dead wrong.
This just isn't true. In his last season here in 2014-2015, these were his most common linemates, in order of ice time: Kesler (by far the most shared ice time), Beleskey, Getzlaf, Maroon, Rakell, Perry. That pretty much says he was a top 6 player the majority of the year (he was also injured for awhile, too).

I've seen far worse than that on here be outright ignored by mods. W

The only thing I addressed was that you said anyone was saying Palmieri was Zegras. No one said that, so that's a weird thing to say.

It's even more weird now that you seem to have a problem with it.
I think you are mistaking a request for polite conversation with a mod action. The mod action would have been the post disappearing.

If you wish to get technical about it however, “get a grip” is an insinuation that a poster does not “have a grip”, which is an insinuation that they are mentally unhinged/incompetent/clueless, which is attacking the poster not the post, which is flaming, which I can absolutely assure you would have gotten a person rang up by some mods on some boards.

So, as a mod action, let’s now drop this discussion, and feel free to argue the remainder of my post, as I’ve already stated the part you disliked was intentional hyperbole to make a point.

I felt like Palmieri's development (and point totals) was hampered by Selanne hanging on a too long. Palmieri never really got a steady top 6 role until 2014-15 (his final year with the ducks) after Selanne retired. That year Palmieri had 30 points in 57 games which isn't too bad.

But the real damage was done in the prior years where Palmieri languished.

7.8M sounds about right... At least that part of the model matches

I heard Getz said on the deadline show this morning that's he's moving to Nashville in June. That would be such a shame if he took a job with the Preds because Verbeek didn't offer him one.

So I just happened to run into Getzy because a bunch of flights out of Toronto got cancelled and I had to line up for customer service!

Maybe not the best time to ask for a selfie, but at least I asked for permission first!
awesome!

I figured I shouldn't bother him too much since we're in line after our flights were cancelled, so just a quick request for a selfie and backed off.

That’s still cool. I met Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi both together (they are very good friends) at the Epcot food and wine festival in Disney. Got to chat with them , have a drink , and was just an awesome experience. Both had recently retired so they were just enjoying life.
