It’s absurd how good Rakell has been for us in PIT. He’s back to the level he was in 16-17 I think it was when he looked like he was going to win a rocket to start the season. Hope he stays healthy. 200 ft game, tenacious, arguably our best forward this year.
Raks is the type of player who will try harder on a good team so I’m not terribly surprised. It’s not like ever looked cooked here or anything. Watch out though he’s as streaky as they make them.

He was always the guy that played well with good line mates. Issue wa he disappears on weaker lines and the Ducks started falling off.

I think I’m most surprised by his play away from the puck especially since I have been regularly going to the pond since 2009 so I’ve effectively seen his entire career.

Lots of guys improving when they leave here. It's almost expected now.

He elevates his entire game when he gets to play with good players. The effort level increases immensely on both sides of the puck. It was nice when we were able to accommodate that but downright ugly when you can’t. Flawed player.

The one thing that will change my mind about Steel being a bust is if he breaks his 6 goal ceiling, and not a moment before.
I don’t really see how late 1st rounders, and someone that was prob considered a reach on most draft boards could be considered a bust…. The fact that he’s in the nhl is good.

I mean he’s 20th in his draft class in scoring right now…. If anything he’s over achieved his draft stock. Sucks that guys like debrincat, kyrou or tage Thompson went after him, but doesn’t exactly make him a bust.

Glad to hear. When he was good, he was really good - happened to be with Getzlaf and Perry. Past years he expanded his game becoming more physical and aggressive away from the puck but with our poor roster he wasn't looking too good.

Timon and Pumba are excelling away from the Ducks :(

Steel hit the magical 6 number.

TNT doing a nice job recapping Luke Schenn’s career path. He’s not going to transform a team, but I wish the Ducks had him.

I'm not the biggest fans for fighting in hockey but I can't deny the emotional effect they can have in games, at least for a fan. Can't speak for players but I can only assume it's a similar effect. I really wish we could've been able to keep him around with this young team that is pretty much devoid of any physicality save for a couple of players.
