Former Ducks 2022

Love that guy Hakanpää. Still remember how everyone got down on him after some pre-season game and then he ended up being one of the few (or only) positive things in team that season. And then of course he was just traded away. Wish he was here now.
I cannot even fathom how much better we would be with Lindholm Manson and Hakanpaa compared to Klingberg Fowler and Shattenkirk.

I actually dont really understand why we ever got rid of Hakanpaa (or lindholm)

we got a younger player with more upside. but then we just lost that player for nothing. seemed like a good move at the time (got a youngish player with potential for nothing basically) but in hindsight we'd be a lot better off with him.

Honestly, Hakanpaa trade was the dumbest move Bob made in the last couple years. And that’s saying a lot.

Considering the role he played, the contract he got in free agency, and the return the Ducks got, it is just mind blowing. He was great with Cam.

I agree, never really understood the excitement for Haydn Fleury especially after he was gone already. In my eyes he wasn't very good and didn't fill the role he needed to fill unlike Hakanpää. I like to think that he was going for free agency regardless so moving him was really the only choice.

i feel like i saw a fleury interview a year ago or so after seattle picked him in the expansion draft where he sounded pretty bummed that the ducks let him go. from what i remember, he was decent in his brief time with us but in the long run he would've just been another soft d-man on a team full of them

the hakanpaa trade is definitely one of murray's more underrated bad moves. just terrible asset management all around

I don't remember seeing his interview after the trade from here but the interview when he was traded to here he sounded like his soul was taken away from him. It was tough to watch.

We have 2 former Duck defensemen in the top 8 in the NHL +/- wise. They are definitely happier now. Lindholm is #1 in the NHL for defensemen in +/- playing over 24 minutes a game.

Very good player plays for stacked team and looks better than on a shit team. More news at 11.
He looked better on this team too though. He was just playing the minutes Fowler couldn't, which led to more defensive zone starts, less PP time, less favorable matchups etc. We are now seeing what he looks like when he is not being used as a crutch.

Just entering to mention that if you’re scoring at home, Washington Frank (7) has more points through 10 games than Anaheim Frank (6) has through 21. Carry on with your afternoon

He looked better on this team compared to what?

I liked Fleury with the Ducks, but then Murray left him unprotected so he could protect Sam Steel. So he essentially turned Haakanpaa into no one.

Sprong putting his hand to his ear when he scored against us makes me think he lacks a little self-awareness.

First of all, nobody in Anaheim knows who you are. Second, as someone who’s gotten scratched and passed around his whole career, show some humility
he'd be a great player if you could play 1-on-1 all the time without having to worry about fitting into a system or using your linemates.

Sprong is what he is. A one-dimensional sniper. Seattle is maximizing his ability by playing him limited minutes 5 on 5 but giving him a big role on the PP. I can remember Murray trading for him and trying to turn him into a two-way winger. Lots of healthy scratches and Sprong pouting.
