Would be crazy if he got 60 points. The Bruins have some good forwards but it isn’t a better group than we had when we were good. I’m starting to wonder if various coaching regimes just weren’t able to unlock his offense which may have been there all along
Did we ever give him a serious look at our top PP unit? I only remember him getting shoved onto the second unit with whatever offensive misfits we had.
Long time ago i read that Nik Lidstrom though very highly of Hampus Lindholm of him having alot of potential, now he's living up to that potential Lidstrom saw in him. Maybe if the Ducks let him develop his offense more we'd have seen him break out in 2016-2017 season because he already was playing the tough match ups in 2015-16 when he was paired with Beauch for the whole season. Then they let Beauch go because he blew a playoff game and then came the Lindholm/Manson pairing.

I always thought that Lindholm had the same potential. It seemed like we always ended up putting him in a role of babysitter rather then treating him like someone who could have been a legit #1 defender.

That’s Fowler. Lindholm had the best complementary players between the two by far, (Fowler got moved to his off side to play with Beauchemin).

It’s sad that we were never deep enough to be able to play Lindholm and Fowler together. Would have been an interesting top pairing offensively.

It was written in the Duck constitution that Fowler would run the first PP.

Watching these guys thrive in other places just goes to show how comically bad we’ve been the past 5 years and that coaching is an issue
I think eakins system is really awful... and part of the reason you saw guys like Lindholm/Manson look iffy at best.

As for Mahura/Montour/Theodore etc, we prob wernt patient enough with any of them really.

Also just seemed like we chose to go with Lindholm + fowler on left side, and theodore was really never going to get a shot here, but how we lost him was dumb

We did pair Fowler and Lindholm together and it wasn't good. Both had the green light to jump into the offense, but unfortunately, both did at the same time. It's not a great pairing b/c the roles for both players are the same such as they are the lead in their pairing. It's like Fowler and Kulikov pairing, it just doesn't work.

I don't recall that at all. My recollection is that they had very limited minutes together and when they were they were very dominant.

Hah, I was about to say that they had such limited minutes that I couldn't get a read on if they actually had any chemistry at all. Just about everywhere on the spectrum of opinions.

I think they generally were only together in empty net situations, though. A competent squad would look good 6-on-5 most of the time, so I don't really put too much stock into how pairings perform under those circumstances.
