It also says a lot about the personality of the player....I hear you, and I get it. As a fan that has followed this team since the early 70s, it’s just so frustrating that a player doesn’t want to play here so badly that he won’t even speak to the club.
The Flyers used to be one of the NHLs destination franchises. Now they’re just a joke.
Agreedwho is his agent? I mean kids camp did not even want to give a reason why he does not want to stay here?
who is the richest person in the area who doesn't already own a hockey team? cause someone needs to buy the team and replace everything
Leaked by who? I’m legitimately asking not trying to be argumentative lolIt was leaked that Farabee was done with Tortorella. Hockey players work hard to wear a positive face and be good soldiers because the sports culture scourges anything else. That we know he went to call Tortorella out is a massive red flag.
Provorov just wanted out despite being absolutely spoiled.
Sure, Jan.
Just imagine how Chuck Fletcher would've handled this.
No matter how upset Flyers fan want to be at Briere/Jones, just remember that Chuck Fletcher f***ed up the JVR deadline negotiations so badly that he didn't even trade him. Said "there was no market" for a 20 goal scorer at the deadline.
It can get much, much worse than Drysdale and a 2nd.

Town Hall is on the 19th. That’s when we strike.I won't sleep until I get a reliable number of phone calls Briere made about this trade
he's going to be playing tough minutes here ..you do know that right lolSo let me get this straight.
Pre-Draft this guy says nothing about not wanting to play here.
Immediately post-draft says he was made to be a Flyer.
Hayes and Co get cleaned outta the locker room as part of a much-needed culture change.
Hayes connects with Gauthier in some way and talk shit on the organization (I completely believe he would be the type).
Cutter gets pissed the Flyers won't burn a year of his ELC.
Cutter looks at that, plus possibly the existence of Torts (the guy Gauthier literally told he can't wait to play for) and goes, "f*** this".
Tells Flyers "I won't play for you" and ghosts the organization.
You know Hayes and Yandle are probably egging him on the whole time.
Eventually gets traded months and months later, shocking almost everybody because the organization kept it dead silent.
My takeaways here are simple.
#1 Hayes is a piece of shit. Always was. Had bad vibes from him from the start when he basically said he didn't wanna play here but $ changed his mind. Says a lot that he got the boot and the next year the team looks a lot better, at least to start.
#2 Great work by the organization to keep it quiet and get something that seems decent out of a bad situation.
#3 Seriously, telling a team AFTER the draft you don't want to play for them? Also after telling them you were made to be here? Then ghosting the organization rather than politely hearing them out and saying "I'm not interested"? That lack of professional courtesy is a complete dick move. That doesn't fit with winning culture at the professional level, IMHO.
#4 Culture is important, regardless of what some of you may believe. Healthy locker rooms in any sport don't have guys that are fairweather, that just never goes well when you hit the inevitable rough patch. Anybody who conducts themselves like Cutter has so far isn't going to be good for team culture. Imagine having a disagreement with a coach or your fellow players and outright refusing to talk to them. Locker room cancer stuff. You'd think as Flyers fans you'd understand that given the drastic difference in this team year over year with inarguably a less talented but also less cancerous roster.
#5 Drysdale is going to be great as long as he can stay healthy. Dude was thrown into TOUGH minutes way too early because Anaheim has been a dumpster fire for a few seasons now. I believe playing relatively sheltered minutes on the Flyers with good coaching will work wonders on his defensive game and allow his offensive potential to blossom. Do I think he has #1 potential? Only a smidgen. Do I think he has high end #2 potential? Absolutely. If I were a gambling man, I would bet this guy's gonna be a minute eater on the back end for the better part of the next decade.
#6 Gauthier wasn't going to be a center in the NHL. He just wasn't. Top line NHL centers generally have a vision and instinct that Cutter simply hasn't shown to date. So you either have a whelming #2 Center or a winger. Do I think he's a top line LW? Probably. And he'll probably be good for 25-30 goals a year. And I'm disappointed I'll never see him play in the orange and black. But I'd take a high end #2 RHD over a 30 goal LW or mediocre #2 C all day every day.
#7 If you think this is about Torts, he probably won't be coach here for more than another 2 years tops before he gets a promotion to some comfy desk job. Why would that have any real bearing when Gauthier would still have another year on his ELC if he signed today? What's so bad about having a coach that demands accountability, communication and hard work, that means this guy wants to avoid this team? If, and this is a big IF, this was about Torts, this kids an idiot. He's inevitably going to get a Torts-like coach in his career. You gonna demand a trade then? C'mon.
Excuse my rambles. But wtaf is this whole situation. Draft a clown, get a circus I guess.
One, it was before the draft and I don't think we can compare the Flyers organization and the Coyotes management. The management of the Coyotes is a clown show and I understand Michkov a little for having informed the team that he did not want to be selected by them.Michkov refused to talk to the Coyotes, is he a big baby for that?
Well he's literally a 19 year old so way more kid then man.Yes the Flyers may deserve this and Torts needs to go, but f*** Cutter. He wouldn’t talk to the Flyers and avoided them? Is he a man or a child? Red flag
17I won't sleep until I get a reliable number of phone calls Briere made about this trade
The problem with that take is then Briere is risking being exposed as a total liar if they did talk to Gauthier. Although they're reporting he wouldn't talk to them, I assume he can talk and would surely seek to set the record straight now that he's been traded. I know I would if I were accused of doing something I didn't do, because Gauthier comes across as pretty childish based on Briere's story.
I would consider consulting Occam on this one. Selling hard on this idea.

Well I can compare them, because Logan Cooley had all kinds of rumors out there about him not wanting to play for a team playing in a college barn while waiting to relocate. And then he signed. One, it was before the draft and I don't think we can compare the Flyers organization and the Coyotes management. The Flyers are a clown show. It’s about time people start to realize and acknowledge this. One, it was before the draft and I don't think we can compare the Flyers organization and the Coyotes management.
