I do laugh for a few years there when they were shoving Hayes down the fanbases’ throat at every turn & how great of a guy he was. Fast forward to now where he’s the devil & is being blamed for something when he’s not even here anymore.

I’m not even saying it’s necessarily wrong but it’s funny nonetheless.

Honestly, my brain is in knots. On the one hand, I'm like "Atoadaso." On the other hand, I'm like "I didn't want Qatar anyway." On my third, secret hand (i.e., my wang), I'm like "Whatever serves the comedy." Because the comedy is all we have.

Jonesy and Briere got out ahead of this. It could've been a major, major, MAJOR disaster. Don't get me wrong: it's bad...but they made lemonade of a bad situation. They somehow kept it quiet that Cutter didn't want to sign here, kept leverage in a deal

He's mid-way through his sophomore season and dying to turn pro this spring. No one -- not Gauthier, not other teams -- was waiting until 2026. The Flyers already had the leverage. And I don't think the return was anything special.

So what if it gets leaked he doesn't want to sign? Do you think the Ducks only found this out 1 minute after sending the trade in? Assuredly, they know he'll sign. You say got out in front.....I say rush job. There's no way other teams weren't/couldn't be involved in a recent 5th overall pick who just led the WJC in points. Briere and Jones flew out pointlessly to Sweden and then made the trade over the same weekend.

If Briere knew years before Cutter went to free agency he wasn't going to sign here, and Cutter walked anyway, how incompetent does that make the GM?
Of course but his value was probably never going to be higher than now. Drysdale is risky but he isn’t available if he isn’t risky and the Ducks don’t have the logjam of defensemen waiting in the wings. Lots of fans in the pacific saying Drysdale is good. It’s worth it IMO to take the risk for a potentially top pairing defenseman. That is the type of player that helps more once Michkov comes over and whoever else graduates and whoever we draft this year. I liked Gauthier but I thought he was more of the elite passenger type and triggerman. We don’t know what other offers were out there if the 5th overall from MTL was turned down. The Flyers got an intriguing player back with a higher ceiling which fits this team’s needs and age group. It could have been much worse

I'm gonna say it, I do not hate this deal, would have hoped for Mintyunkov over Drysdale for sure, I don't think cutter is nearly as good as people project him to be, but I can't say I blame him, I certainly would not want to play for torts, regardless of the direction of the franchise, I'm not playing for a guy who clearly chooses vets at all times, who scratches kids for any and every mistake, that would only hurt your earnings and statistics, so I don't blame him, but I would have liked to have gotten more, my only question now is, what were the other offers we received??

Just when I thought this organization couldn't get any more amateur hour, they invite the coach and CEO of Spectacor on the broadcast to trash a college kid who didn't want to sign with the team. It really is theatre.
The worst thing you can ever do is disrespect the Flyers.

Giroux learned that when he dared to use his NTC that they organization gave him. Now Gauthier is getting blamed for using the rights given to him.

Be a f***ing Flyer.

Hayes has to my knowledge only criticized the team for hockey reasons. So how is his brother’s death & the Flyers handling of it relevant here?
Why the hell would the Flyers organization say a single negative word anyway? The Flyers somehow did Hayes a favor there and they should get his undying loyalty because of it?

I’m lost.

Well to be fair, It’s easy to say you’re right about everything so as long as the team doesn’t win the Stanley cup lol… Not even saying I disagree with half of the posts on here, I very rarely post on here bc it’s a dead forum that I solely check for blockbuster/big moves for entertainment purposes. I didn’t like the idea of Danny as GM at first and posted that it screamed of the old boys club.

But that is entirely separate from posting on this forum multiple times daily complaining about any and every move the team makes. A 19 year old kid who has never touched a sheet of NHL ice decides he doesn’t want to play here which okay, you guys can say it’s his right and that’s true. What you don’t do is ignore a team you told you were born to play for when they drafted you without any communication as to your thought process etc… I just think it’s wild that the first reaction as people who follow the ins and outs of this team and make it a part of their daily life/personality is to take the side of anyone else who is against the team. You can dislike the direction of the team without actively rooting against them. If manifestation was in fact a real thing, the flyers would never win a cup solely because of people with that attitude completely shitting on every single thing they do. Losing cutter hurts, but that doesn’t mean it should be assumed it was all the flyers fault and he’s some prophet that saw the next 3 years of our future and got out while he could like some people are making it out to be. It’s just as likely that the kid actually is an entitled lazy brat, it’s not that outlandish of a possibility.

I just can't get worked up with players acting in their own best interest, mostly. The Flyers shouldn't make themselves such a hostile destination. And they have done that! That's their culture. That's what theyve actively pursued since Hextall was GM. Clarke's comments when Tortorella was hired were delight over how he'll torture players. They treat former players like shit now. That "Flyers Family" culture is dead. Players don't want to come here. It's not just a Cutter thing. Krug just saved them from themselves. Farabee wanted out. It's rumored Frost wants out. TK has been malcontent at times.

That's the things we have heard about. Who knows what we haven't. The Flyers have made themselves a bad destination and I struggle to blame the kid for wanting no part of it. I blame the Flyers for wrecking themselves and arrogantly insisting they're right, despite things never working out for them.
