Really? If they're middle-aged men then they sure behave like a bunch of whiny kids who think they deserve to have a contender every year.
They can't pin this one on Hextall, so they pivoted to a new scapegoat.I do laugh for a few years there when they were shoving Hayes down the fanbases’ throat at every turn & how great of a guy he was. Fast forward to now where he’s the devil & is being blamed for something when he’s not even here anymore.
I’m not even saying it’s necessarily wrong but it’s funny nonetheless.
I did a quick pull of that rumored burner. Does not appear to be the phrasing of a typical 19 year old kid. Maybe someone close to him, but not Gauthier.
Not having to hear or say the name Cutter anymore is worth it IMO. Name like that should’ve been on no draft lists
Well to be fair, It’s easy to say you’re right about everything so as long as the team doesn’t win the Stanley cup lol… Not even saying I disagree with half of the posts on here, I very rarely post on here bc it’s a dead forum that I solely check for blockbuster/big moves for entertainment purposes. I didn’t like the idea of Danny as GM at first and posted that it screamed of the old boys club.We keep being right about everything though. So it's not really unjustified misery, is it? More like rational observations.
that's the $64,000 questionI give the Flyers credit for one thing:
Jonesy and Briere got out ahead of this. It could've been a major, major, MAJOR disaster. Don't get me wrong: it's bad...but they made lemonade of a bad situation. They somehow kept it quiet that Cutter didn't want to sign here, kept leverage in a deal, and now that he's gone they are making it *very* clear that Cutter is being a selfish, arrogant prospect who thinks they're too good for an NHL team.
Have to say, it sounds like they did everything right in a vacuum.
Now, my question is: why not the Flyers? was it really Hayes? did Cutter hear Torts was in for the long haul and he didn't want it? Because if it is Torts...I'm not happy despite this shocking competence shown in this deal.
Cutter is special, this completely changes everything for me. I kind of was praying we would luck into Cutter and Michkov being two elite fwds and find our D Man in the next year or two.To play out college? Either way I doubt his value would have ever been higher than it is now
Drysdale probably isn’t available if he didn’t have injury concerns and the Ducks didn’t have a stacked set of D prospects
I think a healthy Drysdale moves the needle more in 3-5 years than Cutter, who wasn’t going to play for us anyway
Glad they’re putting their star of the franchise on the case. I’m sure he’ll be taking pot shots at Gauthier over the next week in any pressers he does.

Please tell me that's a real quote.

A couple of things here. If Hayes bad mouthed the Flyers in order to convince Gauthier to not come to Philly he is one of the biggest pieces of **** to ever put on skates. When Hayes’ brother died of a drug overdose the organization did not say one negative word in public about it or question Kevin Hayes’ use of drugs pharmaceuticals.
Agreed. I like that Jones credited the other teams (about 20 of them it looks like) who Cutter agreed he'd go to for keeping it quiet in case he changed his mind. They did get a good player for him, possibly someone who is going to be a better player in the end. We'll see. Still would've liked another 1st next year, hopefully they'll find one somehow.I give the Flyers credit for one thing:
