It was just a weird game. Flyers got a couple spells of offensive zone pressure and they remembered to throw out some stickwork as the clock was running down, but they didn't show up. Like, at all.

The 4th line has been pretty effective for a while now, whether it's been Carcillo or Dorsett on the 4th line.

That tells me Boyle and Moore are what really drives that line. Carcillo and Dorsett bring similar games and elements to the 4th line, but if not for Boyle or Moore the 4th line would be useless.

Hope they both are back next year.

A huge 2 points. That 6 point gap between the Rangers and the wild card teams is huge right now. And a huge loss for Philly with the Flyers having four teams within very close range of them and a rather tough schedule ahead of them. Loving this

Since the trade - Ryan McDonaugh has the same amount of points (12) that The entire Big 3 (our supposed to go guys in Beaver, Nash & MSL) do
Speaks volumes IMO

This game had the passion of a 1983 Rangers vs Blues game...What rivalry? This use to be my favorite game but now its just another game on the schedule..I feel sorry for the younger fans who never experienced what a fierce nasty rivalry this was..It is what it is and I'm happy we won but I despise the make up of this team.

Please go watch boxing if you're going to complain about such a huge win because the team wasn't tough enough for you. I hated the way the 11-12 team played but I wouldn't ***** like this the day they won a huge game.

Anyone else was concerned mightily in the 1st? I really thought we were outclassed in the first and it had me thinking that maybe the Flyers are better than us. We really took it to them in the 2nd and 3rd. Almost flawless defensive hockey in the 3rd. Voracek's goal looked like a set play and perfect execution, tip my hat.

Does anyone else find McD's ability to get open for a great shot amazing? He can do it both without the puck and with the puck. It's jaw dropping.

Yes, but Philly is a decent team and you have to expect them to come at you at some point in the game. It was nice to see our highest paid player stand tall and bail us out in the first. It is also nice to see that when he does, this current team actually seems to be able to reward him with some scoring and can play in the other end.

Yes. I actually find a lot of things about the guy rather amazing. He's already excellent, but there are stretches where he actually looks like he improves game by game, which is staggering, and then manages to do it again later in the season. I don't know what his actual ceiling is, but he is gaining confidence and is blossoming into a star player. He is starting to remind me of a less offensive lite version of Ray Bourque, in that he is starting to be able to control a game at both ends and can tirelessly log a ton of minutes. He is obviously not at Bourque's level, but he is def one of the very best d-men in the league right now.

Was it more Philadelphia not playing well, or what we were doing to keep them bottled up? That's a John Giannone level question right there...

Really expected more out of Philadelphia last night. They had some stretches, but other than that they seemed pretty lifeless.

Big game from Hank and McD. Some huge saves when the game was 1-0.

Solid win, team effort, everyone contributed, from Hank to Diaz...wish someone would ****in KO Simmonds that dick, tried to break McD's hand at the end of the game, the guy couldn't fight his way out of a cardboard box...

I've missed a few games here and there lately, but doesn't it seem like we really well against some teams while its more a coin-flip in some other type of games?

Someone mentioned that we got an easy scheduele coming up, instinctivly I instantly thought ok that will mean a loosing streak...

In this game, I don't think Philly had a no-show. They just couldn't really get the necessary hold of us offensively or get position on us defensively. That was more fundamental than effort. Not saying we would pwn them in the POs, they could manage to get us off our game which would bring a diffrent game.

But it just seem like that we are moving too much for some teams on the ice, get a step on them both offensively and defensively. While other teams seems to get us running around more / manage to forcheck our Ds so that they start to throw the puck away too much.

Not really. The refs would be in to stop it. Thing is you can't let this crap go on. Once you put a bully on his arse he will stop with the garbage.

Yeah, not really. Players like Simmonds and Hartnell aren't going to change just because someone fights them. The belief that a fighter is some kind of a deterrent to cheap shots is a myth. Maybe it was true back in the 70s and 80s, but this isn't the same NHL anymore. Do you honestly think a player of Simmonds size is worried about repercussions, no matter who is on the ice? Which player in the league do you think is going to intimidate him? Please, I'd really like to know.

The Rangers 4th line was their best line again. That's great for Boyle and Moore who will be free agents in July. Not so good for the Rangers. Where are the other forwards? Lundqvist is great. McDonagh is great. The Rangers will need anything/something from the other players. Lundqvist was mentioned as a disappointment by some people in the biggest disappointment thread last week. Are they on crack and meth? Go look at some of the forwards. 92 points is viewed as the magic number for making the playoffs. 86 points. They're right there. The Rangers had the softest schedule of any team in the east. Colorado and Montreal are the two NHL playoff teams left on the Rangers schedule.

I can honestly say I'm proud of the Rangers and their efforts lately.

5 straight wins, outscoring the opposition 20-9.

Dorsett proving lately he belongs. But it's great to have him and Carcillo around.

It makes it easier for us to overlook Martin St. Louis's lack of goal scoring to date. We just have to make sure this doesn't qualify as "peaking too early."

Plays like the Simmonds slash should be reviewed by the league. It's subtle, but definitely intent to injure. Beyond the league doing its job, I like the ol Messier stick to the grill.

Honestly the slash was to the most heavily padded area, right on the thigh. If you are going to " slash" someone that is the place for it.

Well I must have missed one. Im talking about the Slash to Mcdonagh that knocked his glove off. Its not like they were moving and he missed his target. What did he want, McD's hand for a souveneir?
