Aside from the obvious awesome play by McD and amazing goaltending by Hank I have to give it up to AV and his coaching staff. I was at the game and honestly the Rangers were the much more prepared team. The Rangers constantly tried to stretch the ice with long passes out of their defnesive zone and were able to anticipate the flyers efforts to get through the neutral zone with a quick pass up the middle. It simply never worked! Berube was unwilling or not capable of adjusting and the Rangers D just kept stepping up at the defensive blue line and the flyers had very little answer. For all the complaining people do about coaches it is good to give credit to a coach who clearly out coached his opposition tonight!

Where are you finding these?

Why are people upset at Simmonds? He went after the Rangers best player and no one did anything to him. Blame the team "toughness"!

He slashed a guy with no glove in a decided game. That's scummy, ******* behavior. Whether someone goes after him has no bearing on his low life persona.

We'll see what happens in a 7 game series with Philly.

It won't take more than 5 to dispatch of those A-holes. If Giroux can't score, with their defense and goaltending they can't win. And right now Giroux has joined Ovy and Sid as superstars that cannot score against McD and G at ES. they would need a great whistle and a great PP to beat us.

Please explain to us why he went after Stepan after that, and then came dangerously close to attempting to after McDonough after that....

Because he's a frustrated little girl. He's tough when he can gang up on you; belongs in Philly.

This game had the passion of a 1983 Rangers vs Blues game...What rivalry? This use to be my favorite game but now its just another game on the schedule..I feel sorry for the younger fans who never experienced what a fierce nasty rivalry this was..It is what it is and I'm happy we won but I despise the make up of this team.

McDonagh had another great game. Girardi too. Girardi's great play, I hope, does not get unnoticed by the fans because of McDonagh's recent offensive performance over the last several weeks. Girardi has been playing quality hockey for this team for a while now, and that pairing, together, really has done a fantastic job.

Lundqvist played a great game. Sucks to lose the shutout on an absolute snipe by Voracek, but more importantly, we got 2 points.

Outside of the 1st period, it was a solid game.

EDIT: Damn, that does kind of suck for Lundqvist. Could have been tied with Rask for #1 in the league in shutouts! Just two minutes away. Well, it is what it is.

This was a weird game, it seemed as if Philly was treating this like it was a scrimmage. I was in between things for some of the game but I didnt really see any and horrible defensive breakdowns. MSL still invisible. Blue Jackets game really lit a fire under this team in a lot of ways. Most players have upped their game since.

One of these days, MSL is going to score and it will be awesome.

Until then:

Great point. Basically since he signed the new contract. I have been very happy with his play.

Great win. Solid team effort with the team's best players stepping to the fore.

Eff the Flyers.

Meh. If the team keeps playing hockey as well as they have since the end of December, I'll keep loving the make up of this team.

Younger fans? How young are you talking? Because in 2011-12 every game between these teams was intense and nasty, same thing last year. Hell, the first time we played them at MSG this year was a very nasty game.
