That was one of the best games the Rangers have played this season. Our 4th line was fantastic; I was surprised we sat Carcillo after his first game against the Flyers, but Dorsett was great. Boyle playing such sound hockey this season is really great to see. The defense was great and hank was hank.

Most underrated moment of the game: Brassard's Datsyuk-esque stick lift that stopped a guaranteed breakaway. We all know how Lundqvist has handled breakaways this season. That was huge.

Rangers turn around and score shortly after.

One thing I will criticize...the faceoffs thing is a major problem. Losing them is one thing, losing them clean so often is unacceptable and sad. I have zero idea how it can be addressed at this point, but it needs to be. Unfortunately after his miracle faceoff season in the SEL I don't think Lindberg has been that spectacular in the dot either.

it was a snipe top shelf over the left shoulder.

it hit the left post up top inside the net and kinda ricocheted under the crossbar and then hit the same spot on the other side, again inside the net and came out.

if you look at it the puck disappears under the bar and emerges on the other side shooting out but it hits the netting under the bar on the right post and moves it slightly.

definitley a goal. no need to review it.

Tremendous game from the Rangers. The points that were discussed above are huge as the team continues building momentum into the playoffs.

- We've got to be better on all our face offs.

- The big names: Nash, St. Louis, Richards have to contribute and generate chances consistently.

I'm encouraged by Nash and Richards. They are generating chances. St. Louis still has a ways to go. I'm hoping this road trip helps him loosen up a bit. He's pressing. I think more time with Steps and Nash should help.

I really think they will be. Their schedule is still horrific. They racked up points earlier this season while we were playing tougher opponents. Now the worm has turned a bit. They peaked too early and were feeling "too high and mighty" by winning recently against these tough teams. We've put them in their "place" and will continue to downfall.......their defense has still got holes all over the place and their forwards aren't consistent backchecking. Oh yeah, and our goaltending and home ice mastery continues.

Great, so down shorthanded and with 4 guys on the ice that SHOULDN'T be fighting in THAT situation, WHO do you want to drop the gloves? Also, which two Rangers on the ice would you like to fight two guys at once, considering the Flyers had 6 guys on the ice. So pick two of Nash, Stepan, McD, or Girardi for that task. Lets hear it! Unless you want Hank to fight, is that what you want to see? If one of the Rangers who shouldn't be fighting breaks a hand would it be worth it to you?

Second, the two "d-men" for the Flyers were up by the blueline and didn't even get involved so technically, it was 4 on 4.

Third, where did I say they should drop the gloves and fight? The only one out there that could fight is Girardi.

As for putting those players on the ice shorthanded at the end of the game, that falls on AV. He could have had Boyle/Dorsett along with McD and G. In AV's defense, the Flyers had the puck in the Rangers zone the last minute or so of the game and the Rangers couldn't get a change.

I'm comparing what I've seen from him in the past and it's clear to me that he's off his usual confident game. Mainly I'd guess right now that we're seeing a classic situation where a player is feeling pressure & frustration. If that is something new to a typically poised & confident athlete....I don't know but I'd guess it's tough.

In those situations the bounces don't seem to go right. The frustration and pressure build. The shots and passes don't get off or go where they normally would. You can't catch a break to save your life. You start questioning yourself and over thinking what you normally do easily.

I'm confident things will just drop right for him in one game and he'll snap out of it. Analysis concluded.

It shows the Flyers (a potential playoff opponent) that they could get under the Rangers skin. It's why after the game the Rangers brushed off the Flyers end of game nonsense...

I feel like since the Ottawa game we've been playing some Torts defense. Lots of collapsing but the forwards aren't so passive. They were pretty successful with that so it makes sense they'd do well with a system like that but with some tweaks to help the transition game. Helps that Hank is playing like his godly self again.

My issue with AV is he could have had Boyle and Dorsett out for the faceoff instead of Stepan and Nash. Boyle is one of the Rangers best PK'ers and you're not losing anything with Dorsett in over Nash. You're not changing up anything and actually improving the PK.

Why? Pouliot-Richards-Hags has been a great line. Brass and Zucc are together still.

Dorsett would have a big problem IMO. He has short arms. Simmonds has long arms and likes to use his reach. Carcillo I'm not so sure. Simmonds is a tough guy but not really a heavyweight. Carcillo is pretty much in the same category. Either might win or it could draw--doubt if any lasting damage would be done. That rarely happens. Big question is why would Simmonds who is a very important player for the Flyers would really want to fight with either or them?

I expect the Flyers to play their style. They'll need to rely on a heavy forecheck--crashing the corners and the net. The more time they spend in their own end --the more their D is going to be exposed and Mason's having a good year but he's not on the same level as Henrik. Rangers have to find a way to break that forecheck down. If they can do that our chances will be good. What will help even more is if our special teams do well. Last night it was stretch passes--smart defensive play.

Simmonds is a good fighter. Not so good though that he's likely going to put anyone in the hospital. The Flyers real tough guy is Jay Rosehill who doesn't play that much. Their next toughest guy might be Ray Emery.

They constantly get outpossessed and hemmed in their own end. The likes of Voracek and co. will eat them alive IMO. Match ups are crucial.

But it's okay IMO. Staal, McDonagh Stralman and G can handle 25 MPG+. Hopefully the 3rd pair doesn't do too much harm.

Same goes for other teams. Pittsburgh, Boston, Chicago, St. Louis, San Jose... All those teams have their issues on 3rd pairings. In a salary-cap world, that's just the way it is.

Spot on. Simmonds beats mediocre fighters with the reach. Way too skinny be a factor against guys that can really go. He can play and he can score but is stupid enough to want to fight Dorsett/Carcillo and sit for 5 minutes.

I agree we are very lucky with our D-corps. I might even say we have the best defense in the league when looking at goaltending + the 6 defensive positions. Only Boston comes close.

We just lack the poise and talent up front to make the difference on a daily basis. Too often, our stars have an off-day.

The Rangers lack that dominate #1 center. That's a big part of the problem. Richards isn't that anymore (he'll be bought out this summer in all likelihood), and Stepan is a solid two way #2 center.
