15 will work especially if he improves his faceoffs but we have had 3rd liners put up 20 so I think that should be a goal. Brian Boyle even scored 21 for us one season. Chytil had 14 in 60 games for us so its not crazy.

In that year, Boyle had 16 ES goals, 4 PP goals, and 1 SH goal. 20 goals is possible for a 3rd liner depending on usage. But the point I’m trying to make is that 20 ES goals is a high bar. Kreider is the only Ranger to have over 20 ES goals last season. And Chytil’s current usage means that almost all of his production will be at ES.

Well look at it this way. He scored 15 in 87 regular season and playoffs games last season so he just needs to add 5 more :)

Gotta give it to him. I remember when Chytil would nonstop lose or fumble the puck. His hands have improved, and that’s not an easy thing to do.

Here
I just love how he tries to get a hard shot on net every chance he gets.

Laf and Kakko should take pointers from him.

Its obvious (and I have seen clips of him training on this in recent summers) that hes worked on his shot and a quick release while skating. And thats the key - while skating or in motion.

Both Laf and Kakko hesitate and try to lift up and pick a corner. Their legs seize up and they take a look for a 1/4 second. You don't have time at this level for those types of shots (or really any level you top out at with your skillset). They'll be blocked or easily saved. Make the move and shoot all in one motion and dont worry about being perfectly accurate. Get it on net. When Kreider learned that he started scoring a lot more. Same with Cally. It comes with time. We see goals and mostly posts lately from Trocheck in that regard as well.

That shot he beat the Devils on in OT was more about fooling the goalie with the quickness than it being perfect (even though it was a perfect shot off the post). Get it and release. No wasted movements. You cant give the goalie time to get set to make the save. Jarry got a little lucky last night on that quick turn around shot Chytil fired off in the slot. He stopped it but it wasnt an easy save.

Chytil is going to score a lot if he keeps that up

I love that Chytil was the 6th man on the ice with the goalie pulled. I think he made that pass to Zib that should have resulted in a PP.

Gallant only goes out to eat with the veterans.
Chytil is a vet. In his 5th full season. 285 games and another 23 in the playoffs. He's been on this team longer than anyone but Kreider and Zib. And Vesey, I guess, but Chytil has more games played as a Ranger.
