Parent's current teammate, Samuel Poulin, is the same age as Parent and is bigger and currently has more points than Parent on the team. I don't think Parent can be considered the top prospect of 2019 when it's questionable whether he is the top prospect on his own team.

He hasn't been the top prospect of 2019 for a while now. That doesn't mean he isn't a top prospect he is one of the better ones right now, I don't think anyone is questioning that. What is a question though is as you mentioned size. Will he grow? It's doubtful that he'll be 6'1+ but he could get up to something reasonable. Poulin is also a top prospect it isn't impossible for two top prospects to be on the same team just look at the 98 birth year Jr Blues or 96 Mission.

"Falls" to 4th overall and thus joins Jared McIsaac & Benoit-Olivier Groulx with the Halifax Mooseheads. Halifax are now a legitimate Memorial Cup threat sooner rather than later, especially if Hischier somehow gets sent down for next season.

So these kids in Quebec are mostly playing for the private school teams in a league as opposed to club teams which most of the other provinces do? I see most of them play for a
" Collège ".

Isn't Hischier technically on loan from Europe and thus eligible for the AHL (like Julius Honka/Alex Nylander were) at 18 despite being drafted out of the CHL? If so, there's 0% chance he's going back to Halifax no matter who drafts him. If I'm wrong, then disregard this post.

According to recent reports, Hischier is not on Loan from his European team. So not AHL eligible.

Thanks. I find it unlikely he goes back to the CHL in that case, but it's happened before.

Hell of a release and shot for his first QMJHL goal.

Also, time to update the thread title.

Hype is gone but he's playing really well. Holy crap is he ever strong. He knocks so many big kids off their feet and hits them hard. His stats aren't great though so i guess it's time to close the book on him as a prospect along with McIssac. Next year he should take over for Fortier so I'm hoping/expecting similar production. Right now he's on a really good 3rd line with Bishop and Durandeau when the top nine are dressed.

Sorry for the late response.

4 out of 15 teams in the Quebec Midget AAA system are linked to a school for academic purposes (I guess?). However these 4 schools don’t play against other high schools (the level gap is too big).

Players from other clubs still need to attend special programs in select schools that can fit the busy hockey schedule.

He reminds me of a smaller Patrick Kane, smaller.

He's grittier and less skilled, but he still has a ton of skill.

Look beyond the numbers and his season has been incredible, the fact that he often plays with the likes of Crossley and Bisop and still has as many points as he does is impressive.

Looks like a candidate to blow up next year when Somppi, Fortier and Zadina are gone.

I've watched all of Parents home games and some on the road. I don't see any Patrick Kane in his game at all. Can you please let me know what it is that makes you think that.
I just see it in his movement and the way he carries himself. Skates alike and moves his hands like Patrick kane, not saying he has the skill of Kane or even the same type of skillset.

video that might help you see it when he was younger.
