Ok Thanks for the video. I can see your take away a bit from it. However this is not his game in the Q at this point. He's not able to control play with stick handling. He is great going through the neutral zone but doesn't have the jets to drive wide to the net. He has great edgework and is crafty and shifty with a nice shot. He's really strong for his size and with Bishop being injured has been playing a dump and chase game very similar to his buddy Groulx. I see no attitude problems. Seems like a great kid. I'm sure he's frustrated not getting on the scoresheet as often as he'd like. Half way through the season he got a little snake bit after putting up some good points. Hitting a lot of posts and crossbars. Certainly looks like he has a good understanding of the game and makes correct decisions and shows determination in board battles. Hopefully as he grows he will start to back defences up and be able to control the play better and become the player that we see in the early videos. He reminds me of a smaller Patrick Kane, smaller.
Best player for the Mooseheads through this years playoffs
He’s draft-eligible next year, let’s wait and seeworth maybe a 2nd 3rd round shot
a comparable but better player in vitali abromov that will probably end up with more overal Q points , was a 3rd round
so right now i see at best 3rd round
but as you mentioned we will see
I followed him since he was 14. Was touted as the next big name coming out of que.. Hasnt grown much and not gifted enough to justify lack of size.
Thumbs down on Parent
On to Lafreniere....he is lookn real good
Not that I’ll argue that Parent is in the same class of prospect as Lafreniere but did you watch him much this year?
His point totals during the year weren’t very impressive due to the fact he played a lot of 3rd and 4th line minutes without PP time due to the depth on the wings for the mooseheads but he showed a lot of flashes even still. When the guys were out for world juniors and some injuries happened in December he put up around a point per game. In the playoffs he was the best forward on the team and put up 11 points in 9 games.
My guess with the increased role and experience that he’ll be over a point per game next year. No matter what size he is he’s very gifted and a really impactful player in a lot of aspects of the game.
