He reminds me of a smaller Patrick Kane, smaller.
Ok Thanks for the video. I can see your take away a bit from it. However this is not his game in the Q at this point. He's not able to control play with stick handling. He is great going through the neutral zone but doesn't have the jets to drive wide to the net. He has great edgework and is crafty and shifty with a nice shot. He's really strong for his size and with Bishop being injured has been playing a dump and chase game very similar to his buddy Groulx. I see no attitude problems. Seems like a great kid. I'm sure he's frustrated not getting on the scoresheet as often as he'd like. Half way through the season he got a little snake bit after putting up some good points. Hitting a lot of posts and crossbars. Certainly looks like he has a good understanding of the game and makes correct decisions and shows determination in board battles. Hopefully as he grows he will start to back defences up and be able to control the play better and become the player that we see in the early videos.

Best player for the Mooseheads through this years playoffs

yep he has taken the next step, has confidence in himself making moves and carrying the puck more, some can be attributed to the injuries that gave him more opportunity with better linemates and pp time, but some is just that he has improved a lot

Great player, like his skills as a prospect but unless he can grow it’s going to be hard for him to crack an NHL team. There was 3 5’7 forwards or shorter who played any significant time in the NHL this season. I know that there is more chances for a smaller guy in todays NHL but 5’7 is still 5’7... that’s a concern as far as NHL prospects go.

a comparable but better player in vitali abromov that will probably end up with more overal Q points , was a 3rd round
so right now i see at best 3rd round

but as you mentioned we will see

I usually disagree with you but yes that isn't a bad comparable. Honestly if Parent can become an Abramov type I would be ecstatic.

Give him some milk and have him do some specific stretches!!!

If he can get to just 5’9 it will make a world of difference.

I followed him since he was 14. Was touted as the next big name coming out of que.. Hasnt grown much and not gifted enough to justify lack of size.
Thumbs down on Parent
On to Lafreniere....he is lookn real good

Not that I’ll argue that Parent is in the same class of prospect as Lafreniere but did you watch him much this year?

His point totals during the year weren’t very impressive due to the fact he played a lot of 3rd and 4th line minutes without PP time due to the depth on the wings for the mooseheads but he showed a lot of flashes even still. When the guys were out for world juniors and some injuries happened in December he put up around a point per game. In the playoffs he was the best forward on the team and put up 11 points in 9 games.

My guess with the increased role and experience that he’ll be over a point per game next year. No matter what size he is he’s very gifted and a really impactful player in a lot of aspects of the game.

I havent watched any of their games in the Q. I do live in Que so i see reports on him and high lites. Ill be honest my excitement on him has vanished and so it seems here in Que.Alex is the talk of the junior kids here.. Furthermore Xavier years ago was spoken as being a possible number 1 .Today, not much talk about him and it sure seems he
Isnt going in the first or possibly late in the first..
The word here on him is that he is more of a playmaker .

I guess in the tradition of smaller talented players out of Quebec
marchessault gourde drouin letang girard desharnais letang hudon paquette

Halifax is in a transition now. A lot of new faces and six key players out of the line up along with graduating four top players. Parent is playing well. Makes his presence known every shift. Bishop McIsaac Lavoie Dube Safin and Petten injured. Lines changing every shift it’s hard to get momentum. I think he should be drafted somewhere near where Gabriel Fortier was chosen last year. Kid looks good though

Little disappointed in this guy so far but he’s definitely gonna start getting better later on in the season. This team had to start 15 games on the road which is frustrating and difficult on many players. He can score goals and he can get assists but I don’t see a main asset or category to his game that really stands out for him. He recently got moved up to the second line for the team so I’m looking forward to see how that helps him. 4G And 4A is still good numbers to start a season and he had a tremendous playoffs last season. I expect Parent to be a Round 3-5 pick. Nothing extremely exciting but definitely a great player overall.
