Growing up most definitely, and to this point he is as well.

If you look back there are numerous french articles written about his dominance through the youth ranks in Quebec, with some scouts saying he has the most offensive talent to come through the province since Mario. An RDS feature on him interviewed a Q scout who said he could not remember any player since Crosby with the talent he had at his age, and that he might have more natural offensive talent that Crosby.
Very humble too, comes from a great family. His older brother also payed midget AAA, so they know the process.

Any viewers of Parent's season? I've seen footage of him but that's outdated by about a year now.

QMJHL eligible for 2017 so he should be getting talk based on next year's performance.

Any word?

I'm sure it's been asked before but I think an update would be in order: How does Parent compare to Simoneau and Poulin? And why is Parent getting all the press when both Simoneau and Poulin were more productive this season? Have they surpassed him or is Parent a better player still?

4 goals and 4 assists in 3 games to start the season. He just had 2+3 in a 5-4 win last game and 2 goals in a 2-0 the game prior against other top prospect Xavier Simoneau.

Sam Poulin (Parent's teammate) has 2+7 and leads the league in points thus far.

Has anyone been able to see Parent this season?

Late 2001 born, 2020 draft pick.

I know all the talk of Parent, Poulin, Simoneau, but I'm most excited to see what he'll do, I wouldn't be surprised if he's near or leading the league in scoring by the end of the season.

This kid is special. My goodness, he skates like a clone of Patrick Marleau.

I'm with his coach right now, says the kid needs to grow and put on weight.

That's a pretty phenomenal report in my opinion. Means that there isn't a single aspect of his game or skill set that can be criticized and it's all down to letting biology do its work for a 15 year old

Has he grown? My concern is that he was always way too small. He better hope he is a late growth spurt guy because eliteprospects has him at 5'8

How tall is he?

Hard to say he's an elite prospect if he's not at least 5'10 or 5'11. Even 5'10 or 5'11 probably bumps him down some in the draft in a few years. 5'8 like he's listed at, and he might need to score a crazy amount of points to get drafted.

At his age I was 5'6". I'm now 6'1". Little bit early to be worried about height.

5'09 156 from Liguemidgetaaa.ca

Good season at this point! 102 points in 129 games for a guys who play at 14 is pretty impressive

Last year around this point I'd say Xav was still 5'4, hes got to be the tallest one in his immeadiate family at this point...

I'm 5'9 and I know forsure I'm taller than him, his dad and his brother, maybe 2-3 inches. I have trouble buying then hes 5'9, ill ask his coach and get their estimate. Id be more concerned about his weight in terms of draft satus, he needs to get stronger.

For a kid with an elite skill level, should we have such a major worry about his size? It's not like he's going to top out at 5'5 or whatever, but even if he finishes growing at 5'8 or 5'9, as long as he fills out to 180, that should be fine. As long as his determination and skillset remains (IQ especially). How big is Alex Debrincat, 5'7 ~170lbs?

In some cases, I'd say it's actually better to see a smaller player produce against his peers while not being overly physically mature. This case especially when we're looking at a player as good as Parent. Luke Kirwan fell off the rails once he joined the OHL (Sept 2014) after being projected ~top 10 for 2016. He was larger in relative to his peers and at the time maybe masked his lack of hockey IQ until he reached the OHL.

Midget AAA site has him at 5'7.5" now.

Will probably be a dominant Jr. player but he has a long way to go to stay #1 prospect for 2019.

I honestly don't think we can crown that title to anyone yet. Especially given how Foote, Dach and Krebs have been playing in the WHL right now. #1 prospect for 2019 is still a very much open debate.
