Hopefully he reaches 5'10 at least, around the same size as Kane, Drouin, Crosby etc that should be enough.Im almost certain most players listed at 5'11/6'0 are closer to 5'10, I just hope Parent isn't a generous 5'8.

Simoneau's older brother Joey (two years older) is also at the Gatineau QMAAA camp and he is listed at 5'11". Either way, it is pointless to speculate on how tall these guys will end up at this point as it is difficult to conclude that two 14 year old boys are done growing up.

It is just interesting that there are usually no bantam/midget players of that calibre in a given year in Quebec and that there are actually 3 in the 2001 age group (with Parent currently the best). Fun years ahead in the QMJHL territory.

I saw Simoneau play against St-Eustache Vikings yesterday and he is a great player, fast, good play, taking check, incredible hockey sense !!! He made a goal with tow player on him, one knee down ... and received a head shoot after the goal wild he was down behind the net .. was bleeding hope he is ok !!!

Friend saw the game Intrepide (Simoneau) VS Phenix (Parent and Poulin) and told me that Simoneau is better overal player than Parent.

But those three player will go QMJHL for sure. good luck to theme and will go see theme play again.

I was there too! What a goal by Simoneau!! Last year I saw him a lot of times and same thing about Parent and Poulin. They are all very close. Simoneau must gain some pounds tought...

Another 2001 who is playing Midget AAA and that nobody talk about is Olivier Desroches from LM. I'm going to LM vs LSL tonight and I hope to see him. Heard some good things about this D.

anything new on him. How is he doing

Currently tied for the league lead in points these playoffs with 9 in 6 gp. Teammate Samuel Poulin who is also an underaged player has 8 points.

His team is currently in round 2 of 4 up 2-0 in the series.

Why is his province of birth relevant?
Stupid title.

because OP decided it was :)

have a funny feeling if it said 2001 born Albertan you wouldn't be saying this?

the answer, though, I would say, because it's where he lives, and with young players who we know very little about, we like to tell people where they live. Stop being so offended.

You shouldn't trust your feelings.

watched his match in December vs simoneaux and was super unimpressed. Happy to hear he is playing well.

simoneaux appears better but needs to grow

Samuel Poulin is the son of Patrick Poulin ex Hartford Whalers first round pick in 1991.

Both Parent and Poulin plays for Paulin Bordeleau who played in the NHL and have a big coaching experience at every level.

Gm of the Phénix is Donald Audette.

Parent and Poulin are in good hand to get experience and good advise for the next level.

Also played for this organisation in the past ( and this HC )

Frederik Gauthier 1st rounder Toronto
Xavier Ouellet 2nd rounder Detroit ( Before Bordeleau )
Laurent Dauphin 2nd rounder Arizona
Daniel Audette 5th rounder Montréal
AJ Greer 2nd rounder Colorado

And a lot of players in the Q included prospect Brandon Gignac for this year NHL Draft

Picked up 4 points (2+2) last night, currently leading all playoff scorers in the league.

I have a question, why is "elite skater" in the thread title? I have always wondered that

Can anyone answer if he was better the sprong at the same age

Growing up most definitely, and to this point he is as well.

If you look back there are numerous french articles written about his dominance through the youth ranks in Quebec, with some scouts saying he has the most offensive talent to come through the province since Mario. An RDS feature on him interviewed a Q scout who said he could not remember any player since Crosby with the talent he had at his age, and that he might have more natural offensive talent that Crosby.
