First of all, I never said it was. Second, the league does not have to wait for American and/or Canadian officials to decide if he broke federal law. If Kane did indeed travel, against health restrictions, he violated his contract. Not to forget the fact that he failed to report back to the team when he was supposed to. The league has every right to decided if his conduct is unbecoming of a player in the NHL.

Should the league wish to pursue contract termination they would have to follow the procedures set in the CBA. This includes an off-ice conduct investigation with NHLPA participation who also have the right to take the matter to an impartial arbitrator.

Could you reference or explain the details of those two “federal laws” violation incidents?

I would guess that he's referring to fake vaccination card and traveling to Canada with 15 days of testing positive for Covid

Pretty much and I don't think the NHL would want it to get there because in front of an impartial arbitrator, they probably lose here.

They can't really stand there and throw the book at Kane if they themselves enacted a policy on Dec. 29th that allowed NHL players and staff to willy nilly travel back and forth over the US/Canadian border 5 days after a positive test, when Kane was like 7 or 8 days removed from his positive.

I assume so as well. I'm questioning whether either was a "violation of federal law".
If the fake vaccine card has the appropriate government seals, it is a federal crime. A real vaccination card in the U.S. carries the seal of the CDC and HHS. People using, selling, or making fake vaccine cards that have those seals are being prosecuted under Title 18 United States Code, Section 1017 (Government seals wrongfully used and instruments wrongfully sealed). Using a fake vaccine card is less likely to lead to jail time than selling or making, and more likely to lead to a fine and probation. Certain states also have state laws against the use and production of fake vaccination cards.

Depends if he got an official pcr negative test to confirm he was no longer positive or not.

Not sure how it works in California. Up here it needs to be official, done by public health.

You can't just take a rapid test nobody else sees and declare yourself healthy

I would like to see Kane go to jail for a year. He would absolutely tear up the California Penal Hockey League. CPHL.

This will also backfire for teams who will be playing against edmonton sire. Kane makes edmonton so much more stronger..... they shall win a lot of games with kane out there. Real strong and steady. Kane was the best regular season player on the sharks roster last season. Other sharks players were jelious to him.
Oilers have more pressing needs if winning more games is the objective. Kane hasn’t exactly shown he makes a difference in that department… he’s usually on teams that don’t win.

The extra test doesn't matter to Canada when traveling from another country. He had to wait 15 days from the positive test.

He's got positives and negatives in his game. 50ish point player who takes 100ish minutes of penalties a year. Usually stupid ones that cost the team at the worst moment. Plays an Individual game.

Mind you he acts like a choir boy for the first year. The problems start after he gets comfy and a longer contract.

A lot of those are 10min misconcuts etc even 5 minuters. They don't affect on the team. Kane that hard. He brings it on the ice. Scoring and doing things. Moving things. Sharks best scorer last season, even with all that debt. That's confidence right there sire. Edmonton got a beauty here.

Legally no. But since he is a Canadian citizen they are not going to bar him from entry like they would if he was American and broke those laws

Im a sharks fan. no need to try to educate me on Kane. he plays a lone wolf game and his teammates despise him.

As to the "a lot of those are misconducts", you are partially correct. his Penalty output is still hideous even if you remove those.
2018-19 He got 20+ in misconducts in a boston game, but also took an instigator and double minor for roughing earlier in the game. He got 10 in Florida, but also got 2 for unsportsmanlike conduct. That same game took a double minor for a high stick and earlier hooking. vs Calgary his misconduct wasn't much and was at the end of the game. So meh. Against Vegas he got 20 for abuse of officials, abusive language sure, but also got high sticking 2 minutes prior, then took 2 for tripping and also 2 for unsportsmanlike conduct and even got the San jose coach to take an unsportsmanlike from the bench for 6 more minutes lol. He only got a fighting in the Isles game, but he also got 3 roughing penalties and a slashing penalty that game. Those were the only games with more than 10 minutes of penalties so its all I looked at. most of his rap sheet are 4 minutes a game spread out evenly.

Add those misconducts up and you can subtract 50+5 for misconducts and his 5 for fightingx2. He took 153 minutes of penalties that year, minus those misconducts and the 2 fighting penalties for a cool 93 minutes of penalties in 75 games.

2019-20 he took 122 minutes of penalties. only 4 Misconducts. But in 3 of them, the sharks came out on the short end of the stick and were in the box because kane accrued way more penalties than the other team. His elbowing major Against the Caps for instance. Or when they threw 19 minutes of penalties on him in the last 2 seconds of the 2nd period of the Nashville game to guarantee he would have to sit in the box for the entire 3rd period LOL. He lips off at the refs ALL THE TIME to the dismay of his teammates. The Refs respond by nailing him for everything. Rightfully so.

Remove his Misconducts and 2 fighting penalties here and he still took 72 minutes of penalties in 64 games that year.

Last year ill grant you this, he had a record low 42 penalty minutes in 56 games and no misconducts or fights.

I also see almost all of the sharks games sire. Its fun and seeing kane play was a real treat. The man was almost errtime on the points wise. Really scoring high there. Especially that debt season when he was playing with all the wife pressure and money thing, he still put out the best season... man that's hard right there. Edmonton getting a real juicy one here. Still scoring and making mcdavid a better person and player. Interesting to see how many he'll be putting up with mcdavid and draisaitl......
