Honestly Springer should get a couple days rest, if he keeps going like this he's only going to hurt himself more and become a liability to the team. This is such a huge series that the Jays shouldn't be trotting out someone who is clearly grimacing.

The Jays have options too, they can DH someone like Kirk who can clearly hit, Jake Lamb has some pop in that bat given his track record, and Grichuk always seems to play better when his role is shrunken/at stake. Even if it's just a game or two, George clearly needs to recuperate a bit

Id sit Springer for a few days and let Kirk DH. Knowing Montoyo he probably puts in Lamb instead.

He is a liability right now. Last 15 games stats.

Being so close to the FIRST Wild Card is huge.

About ten days ago they were 6.5 back of Boston and 8.5 back of New York. Nice to only need one of those teams to falter at this point.

Have to take at least 2 of the remaining 3 against the Yanks this week.

Seattle/Houston on Sportsnet now if anyone wants to watch.

If Pearson can perform like he did last game and Merryweather comes back like he was, even Montoyo can't screw things up.

You don't want to get ahead of ourselves but:

Closer: Romano
Setup/Stopper: Merryweather
Setup/Stopper: Pearson

Middle Relief Situational Lefty: Mayza
Middle Relief Groundball: Cimber
Middle Relief: Richards

Long Relief: Stripling

To bad we can't sign all of our top FA players
Semien 20 mil a yr
Ray 25 mil a yr

Will be signed next yr
Guerrero 30 mil a yr
Bichette 20 mil a yr

I think we would beat up on teams next yr

Payroll could be 240 mil

If we could keep that starting rotation together

30m is due to free up in 2023 with Ryu/Grichuk off the books. But Gurriel, Teoscar, and potentially Berrios will command a hefty portion of the payroll too. Who cares though, the team has potential to routinely make the postseason.

The video up on mlb.com of the game tying 9th inning Rays inside the park homerun. Who's broadcast is that? I know the Rays are so far ahad they have almost nothing to play for and this kind of shit happens to them all the time but if that's the Rays broadcast they couldn't sound any more bored about a 9th inning game tying inside the park homerun

Everything is falling into place.
