Oh and Coyle can GTFO, he wasn't the problem but at 5 mil I'd rather Haula be our 3rd line C instead

Welp, it’s been fun guys.

Was a good series overall, hurricanes have a ton of talent, and I think Boston playing them literally to the finals seconds is a tribute to the core Boston has had for the Bergeron years. Unfortunately Boston seemed to lack the killer instinct at times. Will be interesting to see what changes are made.

Thanks everyone for allowing me join in for the playoff run and being so welcoming. Wishing you guys a good offseason and hoping anaheim
Hits it out of the park with your 1st :). I’m sure I’ll stop by occasionally to check in on lindholm, eastern conference teams are easier for me to watch anyway.

And I’ll leave you with a GO YANKEES! 😈
We really enjoyed having you here. Please come back or don't leave for the off-season!:thumbu:

I wonder if Jacobs truly understands that this is 2022.

It’s a 32 team league, meaning half of the teams DNQ for the playoffs.

They had some lean years 2005-2007.
The barn was half empty,

Will they be willing to endure say 4 years of that?
2005 to 2007? I'd say we were languishing from 96 on until 2007. Yeah, there was competitiveness, we nabbed Thornton, but then we ...ugh. We'd get to the playoffs and get swept (except 99 and we should have f***ing killed Buffalo that year), and then wash rinse repeat.

We need a good reset.

It's interesting. Bruins fans have had it good for 15 years. Even the years they didn't qualify, they were battling for it until late in the season. If the team was to go through another genuine lean patch while they rebuild, will the fans keep filling the Garden? Jacobs seems to think not, and we'll go back to those dark days in the early 00s. I genuinely don't know whether or not he's right.
Screwing up the lockout, botching the Joe Thornton deal, and bottoming out were the best thing that could have happened to this organization.

It was the only way to shake up the Good Ol Boys Club and bring in an outsider to run the hockey ops.

It wasn’t perfect and we can criticize Chiarelli’s flaws, but it was a needed tonic at the time.

Where are the checks and balances in this smug, arrogant, soft organization?

We’ve known this for years now and its not fixed. This team’s floor was the playoffs anyways with Bergy and Marchand on the roster and they never were able to put up a roster to compete well in the postseason

Same story every year.

Sweeney has to go. Can’t build a roster, whole organization has been riding the Marchand-bergy coat tails to the playoffs every year.

Cassidy can go to. He doesn’t get the best out of players. Very rare players come here and are equal to or better than what they’ve been in their career under Cassidy. Haula and Nick Ritchie being the two exceptions.

If Bergeron is indeed retiring their may be one silver lining, that is there would be no issues in buying out Foligno's last year. Apparently he and Bergeron are tight and I doubt Sweeney would have the courage to do it if Bergeron returns.

Why do people think Krejci is coming back, or even want it? Sometimes I think the fans here either forget, or are alright with downright mediocrity. Yeah lets get a guy whose a year removed from NHL hockey back. Doubt he plays another game in the league again. We deserve to suck if thats the type of moves we want to make. Its time for a rebuild. Other teams are rising, and we just aren't.

Chia and Claude fired: be careful what you wish for.

Best of luck elsewhere Cassidy and Sweeney. If not, mediocre decade incoming. Poor team building. Poor coaching.

But wiff CHIA as gm we woulda traded all da “ YOUNG GUNZZZZZ!”

Bad look for that crowd. Has sucked over the past 5-7 missing out on 1/2/3 round prospects lose infinite value year after year until it’s nothing.

Yeah, but 2008 I think we all felt we were on to something good. That's not present right now.

Man I remember being deeply dissapointed when I learned that they lost game 7 with 0 - 5 after that fight they showed in game 6 but nobody thought they would be a playoff team that year so in the end it was an succesfull year.

They’re not trading that contract, but I’m really not married to anyone on this roster.

It’s a business. My years of watching sports have taught me that.

I used to get sentimental about guys.

Not anymore.

I’d trade my cats for a 1st round pick lol.

Rising and never winning it . No guarantee a full rebuild even guarantees you success. Look at oilers they have been doing it for years rebuild after another.

Jacob's doesn't want to go back to those days when they had to keep tickets cheap. I remember they were giving away free tickets at the Wives Carnival those days.

No, he's fine if they wallow in mediocrity. Of course if the mediocre players that the mediocre management team
chooses makes the undead of Buffalo chug along in huge profits that's all that matters. Example: The ice plant in the Garden. How many games were lost to injury due to the Buffalo skin flint penny-pinching?! They found the $$$$ though for hundreds of new seats so that should make the team better, right!?!

Carlo McAvoy swayman pasta jake lindholm ullmark arent chicken feed. We have a solid bunch of prime young players here.
A smart gm would get a hall for Carlo I don’t think he’s getting any better than he is right now. He’s just not physical enough for the style he plays. I would trade Gryz too great skater but not enough offense to overcome all his deficiencies.
