Dumba hit on Pavelski

Hits like this cause these injuries, so the many posts celebrating this kind of hit and wanting more of them back in the game are calling for more ugly concussions to return to the game.

Lots of hits cause injuries. A clean shoulder to shoulder hit (which this was) very rarely does though. Many things went wrong here: a third player (Hartman) inadvertently causes Pavelski's own stick to ride up at the same exact time as Dumba delivers the body check. This causes Pavelski's head to snap back and, eventually hit the ice, causing the injury (presumably concussion).

The injury was an accident. Intent to injure? Please.

And are we really making comparisons to pedophilia here??

Suter's cross-check to Kaprizov was nasty. Another thing that should be looked at, even more suspension worthy than Dumba's hit.

Good hit, shoulder to shoulder. I'm surprised that Pavelski didnt seem to anticipate contact there. Guys finish checks every single game just as late, if not later, and I don't see this as a blindside hit.

He was tied up with a different defender, 2nd defender came in with a blindside hit that started with shoulder but clearly made most contact with his jaw...at speed!

Dumba also turtles to domi a few seconds disaster when domi wanted to fight, then jumped around the box like Rambo.

Taking a team's top line winger out of the game with a concussion tends to have that effect, yeah.

the concussion was caused by hit head to ice and Hartman’s stick. Not Dumba’s hit. Benn is a master of cheap shots but I’m sure you’ve never seen that. This was a face to face shoulder hit.

Correct, but that doesn't necessarily make it a late hit. There are MANY hits each game that occur after the puck has left the player.
