Dumbass is hiding behind a tough team.

The hit wasn't as bad as the result but there's little reason to laugh about it.
Exactly.

The hit was borderline late. But a player is clearly concussed even as they're helping him off the ice. Nothing to laugh about. Dumba is garbage.

He didn’t. The roughing penalty was after domi jumped him
If a 5 is called on the ice then they have to give him a minor at a minimum for the incident, unless the rule has been changed yet again. Again, it's ironic that the rule was created in the first place because of the 2019 Pavelski hit.

I thought the Dumba hit was late, but not unusually late. Otherwise, he went out of his way to check cleanly. It was hard, no doubt, but clean.

You could maybe say this if he had started towards Pavelski before the puck was gone. The puck was easily gone before Dumba started towards Pavelski.
Correct, but that doesn't necessarily make it a late hit. There are MANY hits each game that occur after the puck has left the player.

Looks that way in slow-motion, but in real time the puck was off Pavelski's stick for less than a second before Dumba made contact. If Pavelski hadn't hit his head on the ice while falling, this would be a non-issue.

No one wanted to see him injured and I hope he can make it back.

Clean hit. Should not have even been a penalty. Pavelski should know not to admire his pass (or in this case, week shot). Keep your head up Joe!

And Dumba was not laughing. Not sure where that is coming from. He was yelling "That's a clean hit!" from the box.

Old school hockey. Unfortunate that he got hurt but this is a contact sport. It was a hockey play.

It might be a tad late, but certainly not close to the point of rising to an interference call. Head wasn't principal point of contact. So I don't see a penalty in there...

You understand why Dallas was salty, that hit didn't do much in terms of affecting the actual hockey play and most players would have just let Pavelski go there.

Clean hit, shoulder on shoulder...he just released the puck.

Wasn't the head. Wasn't the numbers. It was just a punishing hit as consequence for trying to make a play in the other team's zone.

That's the problem with hockey today. There is not to be ANY consequences for trying to make a play...and then we are suppose to marvel at how "great" players are.

I like a physical brand of hockey and like (Non-staged) fighting but I really disliked seeing Pavelski hit like that and it was worse to see him struggling to get up.

Maybe I am getting older or something.

Maybe if I saw it frame by frame and it was truly just from his head hitting the ice causing all the damage it might sit better but damn.

I don' think anybody likes to see players get injured.

First real playoff moment of the year, nice to get it started

Hope it looked worse than it was and Joe is good to go next game.

Impressed that the NHL actually decreased from 5 to 2 though

Clean hit just a tiny bit late, I think the penalty call was right.

Hopefully Pavelski bounces back he's a legend, would love to see him hoist the cup before his career is all said and done.

I don't see how that would be possible. He has a history of concussions and could barely stand up after that.

I love big hits and it’s omeof the reasons I started watching hockey years ago. BUT… hits that injure players and may even prevent them from havng a normal career is too much. Maybe I’m just getting old but I want to see it where there is still hitting and big hits but not hits that blow players up and scramble their brains . But how do you do that ? No idea how to keep big hits but prevent all injuries.
