Well, considering who the alternatives were, this was as good as it was going to get if we weren't keeping Andersen.
Been playing on Cap Friendly, I Don't see how you sign Rackell for say 3 mil, Lindholm for say 5, and a 13th F at league min and stay under cap. It's not far off just saying that this team budget better be the actual cap.
Thompson goes on LTIR. Also, cap dollars are not the same as salary dollars paid.

Some Leafs fans have awfully short memories. The guy carried the Leafs pretty far before being mentally broken.

I watched every game he played he was that bad, when a guy who is paid to be a #2 gets sent yo the minors that should tell you something

That just means someone went through the work of putting together a video of mistakes. If you wanted to put together a fairly lengthy video of bad goals from Andersen, trust me. You could do it. It wouldn't be pretty either.
You could do the same thing with Gibson. It would be shorter, because he has less games to look at.
Players make mistakes. They make them all the time. If you're going to focus on those mistakes, you can make any player look terrible. Throw in the Benny Hill theme, and you can even make a joke out of it.

Meh when your best defensemen is Phanoooooof, I think he will be much better with the Anaheim's blue line and forwards.

Bernier is a good goalie coming off a poor season. I agree that there may not have been a more talented option available to the Ducks. The only argument that has some validity imo, is the fact that they could have gotten a slightly lesser talent to the fill the backup position for significantly cheaper on the cap, which would have left more room to re-sign their RFA's without rushing a dman trade to make it work.
The thing is, with the expansion draft looming, we were going to have to make that trade regardless of the RFAs. As it is, even with a trade, we're still likely to lose a defenseman through expansion; most likely Despres.
I watched Andersen play, he was **** also. So???
Aw man better hope he doesn't suck with that new deal, right?? Drifting way off-topic with stupid goalie comments here.
I hope we can trade Despres instead of Fowler, maybe Bob pulls out his magic wand here or maybe we trade Fowler.
You're not getting our best winger prospect along with Fowler for that. Leivo is a plug.

Non Leaf fans don't rate your forward prospects like Leivo, Leipsic, Kapanen as highly as Leaf fans do.
As for your proposal, hard pass on trading Ritchie.

those are still quality prospects though, kappy is a high end prospect on one of the deepest pools in the nhl, he was rated like 6th or 7th for the leafs.

My bad then. Not sure I'll understand folks who make trade proposals for teams they aren't a fan of, but to each their own I guess.
I don't see Crouse being that much more valuable than Ritchie, they're both similar players. Ducks are already weak on high end forward prospects, so trading their best one is just not a good idea.
All still forward prospects though. Prospects I've seen Leafs fan rate pretty highly on here. I also just going by what the other poster had suggested and added Kap since he's been mentioned in trade proposals to us before.

I really don't see why Crouse would be considered more valuable than Ritchie. Which one had the better junior career and has a strong first pro season under his belt?
