We're doing this thing again where we're sucking in the wrong year.

How deep is the draft, or #1 overall pick this year? Isn't 2026 the year with the prodigy?

It really, really burns watching this garbage team play and watching what Michkov is doing.

I fully understand that rebuilds are not fun and we are deep in the midst of one, but I still have frustration to vent.

It's no fault of Reinbacher, HuGo drafted him, but he's going to need to perform at some level to meet expectations. It's such a bad f***ing pick in hindsight at this moment. I REALLY hope he proves me and everyone else doubting his pick wrong.

They say that every draft. The year we finished last was suppose to be great draft headed by Shane Wright.
Nobody thought it was a great draft, and especially not from Jan 2022 onward. Wright had stagnated and there was no clear number 2 at that time. By the time June rolled around everybody was downright negative about likelihood of the draft producing even one PPG player.

So you're concerned about what you deem apparent lack of growth and demand accountabilty, but you also want them to suck so they can tank and draft higher.

You seem conflicted.
Not really. Hockey is team sport. It's totally plausible to see growth and progression in 1-2 individuals while the team as a whole sucks.

I started the season rooting for wins and upon realization that it would be one of those years, am of the opinion that if you're going to suck, might as well suck hard.

Well... you don't have to ask them twice. :D

Although they called up Wah-Wah so the suckage is over now?

How old were Dach and Newhook when we acquired them? Dach was a recent #3 overall and Newhook was a recent mid-1st.

Dach looked pretty darn good during his first season and two games as a Hab but then suffered a serious knee injury. Many were questioning Caufield's ability to score again throughout last season.

Rebuilds are long, trying processes with more valleys than peaks that can take a lot of years. Although Habs management may have been off on their evaluation of whether we could play meaningful games in March of 2025, they haven't made any substantial commitments or made any attempts at shortcuts that will handcuff their long term future.
Can understand the knee injury. But Dach wasn't even trying last few games. Like you said he is capable of much better effort

It's a valid excuse but it's gotta go away.. he should be working with a sports psychologist every day.
Nah he's just soft , that's my opinion.

What we need a sports psychologist for every single one of our players? Soft.

They just aren't very good and I'm including Slaf into that , good thing there's alot of time and nothing is set in stone
