You mean the same ones that burned all those LeBron jerseys four years ago?
What I meant was James was going to flirt with the Cavs. He drew it all out and created a huge circus.

He actually repeated what Ron said...but as usual Ron overreacts to everything. Kellerman is just lucky he didn't post it on Twitter.
Bottom line is the Lakers are gonna be bad for a long time. They aren't making the playoffs this year, and don't have their 1st unless they finish bottom 5. So the Lakers will be in the super deadzone. And because of this terrible outlook, nobody wants to sign with the Lakers (not to mention having to deal with Kobe). And now the 1 player they mighta had a shot at is trying to angle his way to Cleveland. Lakers better pray Randle becomes Barkley right away...

Define "long time"? One trade, one player can turn around a franchise. Kobe was demanding to be traded after a couple first round exists to the Suns, They land Gasol and the same year are in the finals then win the next 2. I think it is extremely shortsighted to look at a couple years in a bubble and have it define an organization.
Its called rebuilding, Lakers have done it more than once and usually quite successfully as all those banners hanging on the wall suggest. Now if they had panicked and had guys under albatross contracts I would agree with you, but they are positioned well for this rebuild and the next 2 years have multiple franchise changing players coming up in free agency.
Again, you can't land the big fish if you don't have the bait. Lakers have a ton of bait free my bet is they come out of this all right as they have many times before. The bandwagon will be back, for now they can all talk about how they have been Clipper Fans for life and ride that train.
HOU still needed to dump those contracts so even if they don't get Melo or Bosh it was a good move for them.
Curious to see if Gasol resigns or if they work out a sign and trade...would be surprised if he just leaves without helping the Lakers out if its possible.
Xmas game pretty much guaranteed to be CLE vs MIA now
*edit Gsol turned down 2 yr 10million/yr from Lakers...so now hoping NY or CHI can sign and trade LA some assets for him in their effort to get Melo.
5+ years...
In what way are the Lakers rebuilding?? They don't have their first next year, and they have an aging star that is going to keep them from being truly bad for atleast the next 2 years.
The Lakers idea of "rebuilding" is sit around and wait for FA's that want to come. They got nothing this year, and if Love goes to Cleveland there is really nothing next year. So then your waiting two years for the hope that KD wants to come to a bottom 10 team in the league just cause the team happens to wear purple and gold.
I sure do miss Pat Riley when he was behind the bench for the Showtime era Lakers. It's what got me into basketball when I was a kid. Until some Wayne Gretzky fella came to town and got me hooked onto hockey.
Jerry West should've never left the Lakers as well, but thanks to Kobe and Shaq being drama queens, he got fed up dealing with their personalities.
Actually, I think West's bigger problem was with Jackson.
Thank you. I love you too.
Anyway, most people here have figured out my posting style is tongue-in-cheek and for effect.
Most people.
By the way, your avatar is creeping me out and has been for years.
No, I'm going to agree with Ziggy, those two a-holes made watching Laker basketball disappointing. Never thought that would happen, used to love the Lakers all the time. Even the third title wasn't that much fun with these two a-holes bickering with each other.
Gasol's a borderline HOF at best and probably 50/50 chance he gets his jersey retired.
I totally forgot it was the basketball HOF. Anyone know why NBA doesn't have a HOF of its own? It would seem to make sense.
