Terrible coaching. Matheson struggled at the beginning of OT so Napoleon throws him out there again. How do you put Laine out in OT when it's all about skating and puck possession, the guy can't skate Marty!!
Every regime we have a coach that has sick fascination with the most useless player on the team. And just keeps and keeps and keeps costing the team games.

Also there is no world where Evans should be getting 3v3 icetime over Slafkovsky. Especially after the game Slaf had.

Evans is one of the best open ice players on the team, and he won't hurt you defensively either.

I have never liked the dvorak idea though.

This is one terrible night. Every team we needed to lose won and we only got 1 point.

I could not watch the full game and only joined it after Carrier's goal . We basically never left our zone after that goal. The team battled but we are clearly not "there" yet.

Matheson and Laine in OT...ouch

I no longer think we are going to make the PO . I still want them to try though.
I agree. We were getting goal scoring from some guys who have cooled off and losing Heineman has upset the apple cart. Pezz never sees the ice in the third period which means more shifts for the rest of the forwards. The break can't come soon enough.

He’s good if he has a lane to the net. But he’s not good if he has the puck on his stick for an extended time and is asked to be a playmaker. 3v3 demands creativity. You shouldn’t put guys out there that "don’t hurt you defensively". It’s shinny, you’re not there to shutdown opponents.

At least we got a point that I think we don't deserve.
It's 3 bad games in a row, although we won against Tampa Bay (they played better).

My love for Laine has slowly and steadily faded away. I agree with someone here saying that Laine is just a deluxe Hoffman.

We really need more quality out of Matheson's minutes. The decision making is just brutal at times. We don't have any other options though. Nobody's ready to step up/in to that role yet.

He's good with lanes (and even created his own lanenin ot) but he's also excellent in transition. Most of his offense comes in that fashion.

His awareness away from the puck is valuable in 3 on 3 as well. He can create turnovers with his reads and active stick.

Meh, they're all not good 3 on 3 players. We don't have that many forwards that can actually control the puck.

Agree Slaf > Laine for 3 on 3, not sure that's true regarding Evans or Newhook.
Evans and Newhook have no vision.

Both controlling the puck amount to nothing most of the time. Plus we don't know if Slaf could actually be a good 3v3 player, he never has his chance.
