Post-Game Talk: Dobby's first loss. Montreal loses to Devils, falls in PO race.

His decision-making is some of the worse I've ever seen in my lifetime. He's got the physical skills to be an all-star, but his hockey brain is a mess.

Every game, he kills sustained pressure in the O-zone 3-4 times with a stupid shot on shinpads or that get deflected in the crowd, when there's an obvious better alternative.

He hangs on to pucks too long when there are obvious passes to move the play along.

He makes stupid decisions all game long. It's baffling. All night long, I cursed him for stupid plays.

This guy could be so good... what a waste of skills.
The fact Matheson regularly makes mistakes yet still manages to have an NHL career shows just how outstanding his skating and skills are.

Didn't Laine score the winner in OT a couple games ago?

Anyway, the boys showed their resilience once again in earning a point they probably shouldn't have garnered. Devils were by far the better team tonight. Dobes was outstanding after a shaky 1st.

I for one cannot wait for the break, the team clearly needs it.

Great game from our 1st line tonight.
Yeah sorry I forgot, so that makes him a better skater than Dach and Slaf, how foolish of me

Everyone here knows that Matheson makes terrible decisions and being that deep along the boards was definitely a poor one but Laine shouldn't have gone cross ice with that type of pressure on his linemate. Neither of them should have been out there. Carrier and Slafkovsky would have been better options.

To be honest Matheson was wide open. It wouldn't have been a bad pass if it connected. Matheson has a wide open shot from that position with plenty of time to set it up.

Matheson, Laine, Evans in OT:

This is one terrible night. Every team we needed to lose won and we only got 1 point.

I could not watch the full game and only joined it after Carrier's goal . We basically never left our zone after that goal. The team battled but we are clearly not "there" yet.

Matheson and Laine in OT...ouch

I no longer think we are going to make the PO . I still want them to try though.

Yeah Laine was gassed which is why he couldn't take advantage of the break. He needed to turn back on that play and maintain control. On the other side Matheson can't be cheating away from that pass which is why he missed it.

And the game Evans had, which wasn't good.

Seeing guys like Dvo or Evans out in OT grates me to no end.. I get it's for faceoffs mostly but still. Gross.

Demidov can't get here soon enough.
Dvorak I can at least understand as he wins draws. Then he gets right off the ice. I don’t like it, but that’s the extent of his role. Evans was actually out there to try and get a goal, that is just lunacy.

Matheson fumbled a possible breakaway earlier in the OT. He couldn’t handle the puck almost all game.
Agreed, but the majority were jumping on him for the final goal against. He takes enough shit here (warranted). On the winning goal, I'd say 25% Matheson, 75% Laine.

It feels like he's too fast for his own good at times. Even that missed pass was mainly due to Laine completely misreading the speed at which Matheson was going. Like I said, just two guys operating at entirely different speeds. Not a good match.

Anyway, 3on3 is always like this. Someone eventually makes a screw-up and it's over.

I doubt they have depth but the Habs certainly don't. Another injury and they are done.
The Bruins have two key Dmen out as we speak and are starting to put some wins together.
The Rangers have just under performed but they actually have 22 RW which is one more than Tampa.
7-0-3 tells me they are working their way out of that horrid stretch of games they had.
