Post-Game Talk: Dobby's first loss. Montreal loses to Devils, falls in PO race.

We're very clearly cooling off but the rest of the pack isn't.

I wouldn't be shocked if the playoff race is feeling like a distant memory by the time the 4 Nations starts.

I don't trust any team in this muck to run away with it just yet.

At the beginning of the year, boston and nyr would have been safe picks, and the rest of the teams are unproven down the stretch.

The odds are against the Habs simply because of the number of teams involved, but all these teams have significant questions.

Terrible coaching. Matheson struggled at the beginning of OT so Napoleon throws him out there again. How do you put Laine out in OT when it's all about skating and puck possession, the guy can't skate Marty!!

Didn't Laine score the winner in OT a couple games ago?

Anyway, the boys showed their resilience once again in earning a point they probably shouldn't have garnered. Devils were by far the better team tonight. Dobes was outstanding after a shaky 1st.

I for one cannot wait for the break, the team clearly needs it.

Great game from our 1st line tonight.

I don't want to see f***ing matheson in the Habs uniform ever again.

I think it's time to start focusing on St Louis again - team yet again is not prepared to start the game. I hate the f***ing "tired" bullshit. They work 60-80 minutes per week... WEEK... while getting millions. In comparison normal people work 40 hours a week or more just to make ends meet, and cannot afford to just not show up. f*** that fatigue excuse. Every shift should be like their last. Instead, it takes one period to just wake up, then play decent one period and then presumably tired in the third.

You all go and toot their horn how they clawed back and got a point - yee haa!!! The team did not play for 60 minutes. Period. The only person who showed up was Dobes and he deserved a lot better that matheson bullshit in OT. I hate matheson... we such burning passion.

They clawed their way to a point. They are exhausted, younger kids are. Normal.

So you either let them ride it, or you provide relief with a trade to jumpstart them. I see a losing skid coming because of fatigue setting in. Normal for a very young crew.
Yeah I said it the other night trying to get to that break is going to be tough. They need an injection of talent and it isn't currently in Laval.

I very like Patrik Laine, I am his big fan, but his play was megatragical together. And OT goal was his mistake. If Pezzetta plays like him, he wouldn't play to the end of the season. One deserves to be healthy scratch. I understand Patrik isn't O.K. yet, similar injuries and long time without playing or even skating practice always has their consequences and there are reason his skating, for example that's why I don't expect anything from him this season. But the team comes first.

Good game by Slafkovsky. He was moving his feet & battling tonight. That was a great play off the boards on the Suzuki goal. He's really important on that line due to his ability to make plays off the boards.

1st was terrible, but Canadiens fought back & didn't give up on it. Dobes was outstanding in 3rd period to get us a point. I love his ability to shake off bad goals & continue the fight (goal #2 was bad).

This might be the beginning of a losing streak. Montreal is only 2-2-1 in last 5. Winnipeg & Minnesota are next up. 2 really tough teams for us.

At least the team gets 2 days off before they meet Winnipeg.

obviuosly they need a break when garbage like NJ is the better team. They have no good wingers.

Granlund and skinner are two players with talent that we could acquire without giving up a good piece.

I think it was Matheson as much as Laine. Not sure why Matheson was skating toward the net on that. If he stops when the pass is made he can catch that no trouble. It would have been almost impossible for laine to pass that where Matheson was when the pass reached him.

When the pass reaches Matheson he is inside the faceoff circle. If you look at the time Laine makes that pass the passing lane toward the inside of the faceoffs circle is not 100% clear. Matheson should have put the break and give the puck back to Laine for a very dangerous one timer.

Yeah brutal stretch (yet again) coming up... Schedule is just not on our side. Plus all of the other teams in the East Gauntlet (TM) are getting hot and winning as well.

It feels good to get mad about losses and stressed out about hockey games again though.
