Post-Game Talk: Dobby's first loss. Montreal loses to Devils, falls in PO race.

Not a big Newhook fan.....but he does much more right now than let say Josh Anderson who quieted down lately. But he has no idea how to score. He's not a point producer. On a great team in a 3rd line? Maybe.
yeah, good top 9 nonetheless. We can't afford to lose him. Still better than a dvorak...

can't complain; we were dead and buried this game.
Character comeback, shot-blocking, Dobes clutch ...
habs stumbled into this playoff race lol...
that being said, holy f*** Matheson. He has two brilliant rushes a year but never has any idea what to do with the puck. What is he doing?? Does he take his eyes off the play? He looks so incredibly awkward and foolish out there.
Whether it's 3 on 3 in open ice or getting forechecked, it looks like he's handling dynamite.
I will add that Laine is not a fit for 3 one 3 unless he's waiting to shoot and that's it

No it wasn't.

He didn't expect Matheson to keep moving forward when he was the last man.

Laine gave up a chance earlier cause he realized if he took the shot and missed, no one would be back.

Matheson kept floating in. Why? You're the last man. Stop f***ing moving forward.

Laine gave him a pass, he should have been stopping and receive it and then throw it right back to Laine.
Exactly. Laine set Matheson up for a one-timer.

I’ve been saying for a while now that Newhook would have cleaned up on the 2010 Capitals

I don't want to see f***ing matheson in the Habs uniform ever again.

I think it's time to start focusing on St Louis again - team yet again is not prepared to start the game. I hate the f***ing "tired" bullshit. They work 60-80 minutes per week... WEEK... while getting millions. In comparison normal people work 40 hours a week or more just to make ends meet, and cannot afford to just not show up. f*** that fatigue excuse. Every shift should be like their last. Instead, it takes one period to just wake up, then play decent one period and then presumably tired in the third.

You all go and toot their horn how they clawed back and got a point - yee haa!!! The team did not play for 60 minutes. Period. The only person who showed up was Dobes and he deserved a lot better that matheson bullshit in OT. I hate matheson... we such burning passion.

Lol that was a 3 on 2, Hughes stayed way behind. He was very high in the zone when he was open and Laine made a shitty pass.

That's honestly just a bad faith way to blame Matheson.
Funny, cause it seems more like a white knight way to protect Matheson.

And what? A 3 on 2 is even more of a reason to not go too deep.

We're not seeing his best version. Just like Dach, it's tough coming back from a leg injury. We'll have to give him time, but he's not hurting us 5v5, just not contributing much. His shot on the PP is irreplaceable though, he's a huge contributor this way.
His body isn't able to do what his brain is telling it. He sees the ice but his reaction times are still off.
He is a really smart player for the most part.
