Lucky for us, JFresh decided to use this Elias card as an example of his legacy cards.

Not too shabby for a 34 year old, ehh?
agreed! though the money is a bit much sometimes haha, only real drawback thoughEveryone should see a therapist even if you are "happy."
There are so many beneifts and there are no drawbacks to ever seeing one
i dont like getting into serious, somewhat controversial topics with strangers.. just usually isnt good practiceYou can’t be serious. No drawbacks to ever seeing one? I’ve heard many horror stories about therapists telling their patients awful, hurtful things.
This is exactly what I was referring to earlier. No, all therapy isn’t good, and no, not everyone needs to see one.
The furthest I’d go is to say that pretty much everyone will, at some point in their lives go through some difficulty where they could benefit from good therapy.
frig, i already started so ill tack another on!I corrected myself in a subsequent post.
Bratt Pack was the one that conflated the “sports psychologist” (I don’t believe he is actually a psychologist) with Bratt “taking his mental and emotional health seriously”. Shame on me for taking anything that freak says at face value.
FWIW, just from a little poking around, this guy Andy Sward does not appear to hold himself out as any kind of doctor. He is a “mental coach” that probably offers similar advice to what you see in awful self help books and unbearable corporate team building events.
If someone believes in that shit, good for them, I don’t. And once again, I don’t doubt Bratt when he says it helped him, it’s probably a placebo.
Fake edit: LMAO, go look at this guy’s website, he’s an absolute charlatan. Zero qualifications for any of this.

i think i see what you mean now; youre opposed to people who suggest ways to think and feel about very personal topics or situations
i can actually agree somewhat to this; though i agree more in the sense that nobody should be told how to but instead guided in the right direction
what the right direction of thinking or processing or feeling is.. well its a sticky subject, but a battle that i dont think should be fought alone!
agreed! though the money is a bit much sometimes haha, only real drawback though
i dont like getting into serious, somewhat controversial topics with strangers.. just usually isnt good practice
ill make a slight exception however as i know more than a few psychs and have been to one myself who turned out to be a great man in my life
i think you've either been misinformed about these 'horror stories' and they are exaggerating a bit, or it was a rare occurence
the entire concept of a therapist is a neutral, third party opinion and educated outlook to help discover new ways to think, process, understand, inspire, etc..
a psychiatrist can prescribe drugs, yes; but a psychologist or therapist in general is something that, inherently, shouldnt have downsides (minus money!)
when someone like @Darkauron says everyone should try seeing one, i think they mean everyone could use someone to talk to who is unbiased and trained in these areas to see underlying meaning or issues. in theory this doesnt have to be a $150 per appointment therapist, but could even be a neighbor or just anyone willing to listen, be honest, and think deeply about the matter
heck, most who see a therapist or psychologist can even help their friends or family at times! those new ways of thinking and reacting are like super glue
and while id personally advocate for it as well - not everyone has to!
but to advertise it as some woefully detrimental practice for some is dangerous i think, as there are bad seeds in every occupation and walk of life. we see this in schools sometimes where kids or teens are afraid to see the school therapist because of the poor reputation seeking out mental help gets, sadly
i just think its best to not paint with a broad brush over such a wildly succesful career field thats helped millions including myself and Bratt
though admittedly im not sure why the need for 'sports' psychologists over regular titled ones.. but thats above my paygrade!
mental health is far more volatile than physical health; otherwise id recommend everyone see a physician weekly or bi-weekly like a therapist!
and while i do think the field is greatly appreciated.. their pricing could most definitely be lower to increase accessibility to those in need
again though.. i greatly respect everyones opinions as their own and dont want to be pushy about it; just giving my take on a slightly-personal subject!
ah okay! im sorry to have mischaracterized your argument then, especially with such a long few posts :/No, I don’t think that at all. I think that talking about feelings and personal topics can be incredibly helpful in many scenarios in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
I just don’t believe that talking to this guy (not a doctor, not a therapist) will make you play hockey any better.
Usually the rookies report mid September and the veterans 1 week afterWhen does training camp start?
ah okay! im sorry to have mischaracterized your argument then, especially with such a long few posts :/
i just feel the need to say something whenever mental health conversations pop up
while i myself have seen a psych and know many others who have, unfortunately last summer a close family friend's daughter committed suicide; this has lead me to be a bit more proactive in advertising the positive affects of talking things out and seeking mental help
again though, i apologize for the misunderstanding and wish you and everyone else a happy and healthy weekend!
your profession? therapist?Everyone should see a therapist even if you are "happy."
There are so many beneifts and there are no drawbacks to ever seeing one
yeah i cant even imagine the horrors theyve been through sinceI’m sorry to hear, that is horrible.
The next woman who takes me out is gonna light up like a pinball machine, and pay off in silver dollars
A cool story from Sheldon Souray about what the Devils org. did for him after trading him prior to the 2000 Cup win.
This is petrifying as a parent especially since one of my daughters is very "soft" and I think will be taken advantage of in a sense that she sees good in people even when it might not necessarily be there.while i myself have seen a psych and know many others who have, unfortunately last summer a close family friend's daughter committed suicide; this has lead me to be a bit more proactive in advertising the positive affects of talking things out and seeking mental help
You told the story of your dog, I'll tell you the story of mine. Maybe you'll like it.No secret, I was adopted in 1936. I do know who my biological parents were. My biological father lived to 91. My biological mother lived to 89. I am mostly bedridden due to pain, most back pain from advanced stenosis, 3 herniated lower back disks, and 1 herniated neck disk. I have two dead hips and lots of arthritis throughout my body. I played a lot of sports in my lifetime, right up to 79 yrs old when I stopped downhill skiing 100 days a year.
I get by, on good days I go out for lunch. I go to doctors, I go to stores I use a walker or rollator. I do take a lot of pain meds like morphine, opioids, CBD, and Gabapentin. I have a spine stimulator installed in my back. I watch a lot of sports and have TV and the Internet. I am a lot better off than many older people.
I want to see the NJ Devils on TV of course get another Stanley Cup in my lifetime. I was in person for two Cups '94-'95 and '99-'00 and watch on TV the other '02-'03.
Lots of info, more than you needed. Good health to you and yours.
Let's Go Devils
all we can do is our best and if we need or can do more we can always help or ask for help! This is petrifying as a parent especially since one of my daughters is very "soft" and I think will be taken advantage of in a sense that she sees good in people even when it might not necessarily be there.

Thank you for sharing. Parts of your story are terrible, like them eating your dog. I probably would have killed them regardless of how hungry they were and you didn't mention they starving so, yeah, I would have killed them at least one.You told the story of your dog, I'll tell you the story of mine. Maybe you'll like it.
In the 90s, when few people had jobs, there was nothing left of the economy and the law, everyone try to find money by any way as they could. My grandmother lived in an old small hut (izba) with garden around it. My family grew food in the garden so that there would be food. And my grandmother rented the house to a family of Vietnamese who came to sell junk in our market. We came and work in the garden, and in the evening we returned to the apartment we lived.
They had two dogs. And one day when we came, one dog was missing. It turned out they ate it. We bought a second dog from them. The Vietnamese left six months later. So Chipka appeared in my life - the child of vicious love between a Pekingese and a mongrel. She was very smart and perfectly understood and reacted accordingly when we talked to her. Sometimes, when my grandmother was ill and lived with us, I went to her two or three times a day to feed her and stayed with her to play for an hour, because she was really very sad and asked for communication. Together with our cat, they set traps for those cats who came to our plot - Chipka slowly stepped on the uninvited guest, and Matvey the cat quietly walked through the bushes and attacked from behind.
Thank you for sharing your story. I also have problems with my back, several hernias (I had to work with heavy equipment in attics), I will be more careful. Now I have to do sports, do yoga and stretching, walk 20 km on weekends to work normally, sitting for 8-10 hours. I'm sure the Devils will please us more than once.
Yeah, the “life coach” market is definitely different.
I just was a little touchy, because I’ve had a ton of therapy since college for all sorts of fun stuff, and the older members of my father’s family had cartoonishly terrible anti-therapy takes.
Yeah, I didn’t mean to scoff at people getting the help they need and after rereading what I originally posted I can definitely see how that could’ve come across.
