Could be the lineup at the end of the season even lol.

It all depends what Fitz's thinking. Severson is definitely on his way out whether it's now or the deadline, preferably now because getting a forward for him would be awesome. Graves is probably traded depending on this team does. If they're good and holding a playoff spot down I don't see why not keeping up for a playoff run unless someone wow's us at the deadline for him which probably wouldn't happen anyway lol

Send Severson and Blackwood to Hartford for Bobby Holik and a 2nd round pick
As you're well aware, I couldn't give a watery shit about Blackwood at this point. He's a goner pretty much next year anyway. Especially when you see how close to the cap we now are. We're not gonna pay him $3-$4 a million, on top of Vanecek getting something like $3-$4 (he isn't signed yet) being a cap team, unless he has a GREAT season. Something just average or a bit above average isn't gonna cut it. So he's more than likely about as gone as Severson at this point.

But we also need somebody else able to play goalie, someone that's NHL caliber, Daws certainly is not at this time and won't be this upcoming year. Blackwood hasn't been anywhere near NHL caliber for his last 55 games, but I do think there's a better chance he's NHL caliber in 22-23 than Nico Daws.

I know Blackwood is merely a reference to Sean Burke in your scenario.

If they are in the mix for the playoffs, I want Fitz to add to the roster. Windows open.

Fitz has hit an absolute homerun this off-season with regard to the defense. We make a trade for Marino who will slot in on the 3rd pairing where there was a hole, he's signed a team friendly deal for 5 more years. We draft Nemec who has all the potential in the world. We sign Brendan Smith who to me is a very capable place holder for Okhotiuk, Bahl, whomever to take his spot in a year or two, Hughes gets another year at UM until he makes the jump. Just marvelous marvelous work.

And Eric Weinrich :). Who honesty was one of my favorites then. I had followed him since was at Maine.

Everything still rides on Luke and Simon from my point of view. We're gonna still need a few years to see it blossom...but this year is no doubt going to be the beginning.
We can do some damage this year depending on Hughes and improved coaching. If Hughes stays healthy and ikeeps improving this year at the rate and on the trajectory he displayed from last December to this spring; with the additions we have made to date and new coaching - we are a sort of “wild card” hand, not in the sense of “wild card playoff spot.” Hughes is the joker in the hand. He had games and even stretches when he was dominant (not too strong a word) last winter. This season holds interest as of now.

Of Gardiner, Maine. Kennebec County’s own.

I just want to see an overall better brand of hockey.

Faster, tighter, crisper....like I'm watching a Pro team. I'll be happy with that

Nice surprise today. We don't have to talk about Ty Smith's gamebreaking gaffes anymore..!

But why must this mean automatically Sevs is out, can't we keep good things?
I just don't see a scenario he's here longer than this season and more specifically passed the deadline. We aren't going to be pay our right side in excess of 20 million per year which is probably what it would cost.

Because Nemec is coming in as little as one year and you can't have Hamilton, Severson and Marino all locked up for 5+ years.

It makes more sense to get assets for Severson and have Nemec on his ELC.
