Czechia WCH U18 Roster Talk

Badinaka is 05-born, so he won't be available next year.
But he is eligible for next year draft right? So he should be available I mean he still will be 18 in April. Or is it from 1.1.2006 players only? I am always cofused of how this eligibility works lol.

Anyway he wont be at this WCH ..... Final nomination here :

Doesnt look very strong sadly ...

It's absolutely simple. All youth championships are divided by year of birth (the draft is different). So this year's U18 is for all players born 2005 and younger, the next U20 2004 and younger..

I was hoping to see names like Galvas, Badinka, Benak and Sprynar obviously.

Still, I like the looks of the team. Thrilled Dvorak is in there and healthy! I love Petr and think he's very underrated due to all his injuries. We will see. Exhibition against Latvia and US was not that encouraging.

Still.. Hrabal is a great goalie and the D is decent in front of him...

Not what I wanted but I'm not surprised either.lol

Ok thanks, its shame then he is not in this squad if he is not eligible next year. But if its injury, then nothing can be done.

Yes thats the problem, the D went from "looking strong" to "only decent" :D

Šalé will lead this team to succes. He'll dominate and others will follow him 👍😝 I'm very optimistic 🤪
I have a bias for Petr and think he is much better than the 5th round pick he will go for. He is our black ace! Whenever he plays for us, he puts up points. He even got one of the goals in the 9-2 loss. If Dvorak is in good form and Hrabal plays well (and Dybal) then I think we'll be fine. I expect a few blowouts for sure though. Canada will most likely win by a large margin. Sweden is probably the game that I'm most concerned about!

Hopefully they can beat Germany and avoid relegation group, because this team looks really mediocre.

This year's team doesn't look very good. Only Šalé looks like a top prospect, other guys can be decent Extraliga players in the future but that's probably it. Adam Jiříček may be a good prospect but we will see, he is still pretty young.

Definitely not a gold threat but I could see us getting into semis as long as we don't finish 4th and play US in quarters.

It's a bit of a strange bias. He led the team to eliminate Canada last year after his own son was injured. His son is really good, but has been plagued by injuries this year.
A nice 8-0 Quarter win over the Swiss too!

We were in a pool of death with US and Canada and finished 2nd. And that was without Petr who was hurt right away.
