The silence regarding Dvorak is concerning. I think we are all used to losing the little elite players we have by now though. :rolly:

I find it interesting Jan Skok got nominated for the camp though, another underage defenseman to join Jiricek and Galvas. Maybe @Voodoozz could add some information regarding his play? His stats are terrible, but he did get some pro games, so clearly Plzen sees something in him. My impression was that he is an ok depth defenseman for the U17 national team, caught a little bit of him in Extraliga and he was able to somewhat hang around. But didn't really struck me as the type of talent you play as underager internationaly.
Also, with all the Plzen guys getting nominated, I guess this seals the deal and we won't see Benak with the team. Shame

Benak is a shame really, I know he is too young, but we dont have exactly a lot of "elite" type of guys in the attack this year and I still think he would be better then most of our offensive guys. Strange decision, but what can we do.

I really like Skok's game. He plays a simple, defensive-minded hockey with good body positioning at the boards and solid defensive stick work. He is by no means a breakout genius but he scans the ice pretty fast and can send a solid hard pass to the right guy. From what I've seen during his short Extraliga stint, he was pretty effective at shutting down opposition in the defensive zone and rarely got physically outmatched, which is especially impresive for a 16 y.o. Very well build and strong on his skates.

Offensive upside isn't really there from what I can tell. Pretty much an ideal shutdown Dman for modern hockey. If he continues developing and keeps getting Extraliga games, I think he could sneak into the draft in one of the later rounds.

As far as his WJC18 chances go, I think he could get an invite as a 7/8 D, especially if Dvořák is out. He wouldn't get outmatched physically and would handle the tempo IMO.

I can't say I'm entirely disappointed with the decision. It's two years apart and Benák is really a small player. I don't want to say that he is physically weak, he stood up physically in U17, but here you can tell the difference every year. And rather than risk injury, it is better to leave him in the U17s where he will get much more time on the ice.

And I look, Vehovský is once again just a substitute. Therefore, he is definitely out of the championship. At the same time, the players from the third and fourth attacks played disastrously almost regularly in the season. And this player, placed relatively high in Central Scouting, is, according to Peter, worse than, for example, hoof (hopefully we understand the meaning...) Hradec. Omg..
Edit: all Vítkovice players are finished. Coincidence or revenge? He was once kicked out of Vítkovice. I just repeat that since the Krenželok vs. Hájek case, I don't trust Petr that he only has a clear conscience and intentions.

Vehovsky or Hradec, makes no difference. If anything, I don't understand how Jan Kucera made the camp, his production in the Czech juniors is awful. But he was somewhat fine at Hlinka, so I guess worth the try...
And that Vitkovice conspiracy seems to be too much, none of the players are any good for the international level at the moment.

I admit that I don't know Vehovský, Pavelec a little. But Hradec just played awkwardly, slow, clumsy, no hint of hockey. There were more similar players.

Very cool! Thanks. Saw him at the tournament in February and was interested.
Last year he played in attack with Štancel and Šprynar and it was our best attack. In truth, Felcman played much worse this season. But he will definitely be a pretty important player in this team.

Maybe we just don't need it. I'm looking, Hradec is there, so there's nothing to fear:popcorn:
It's not the team I was expecting. That is certain. I still like it. Great goalies... Good d and good forwards. Must win the quarter!

Šprynar did not play the last two matches. I really hope he joins the team. That team suffers from a desperate lack of depth, especially in attack. He could have been better in defense as well. Personally, I don't expect much from that team.

Imagine getting 30 points in 14 games and still not winning. Good things going on in junior level at Plzen!

Turns out Sprynar is not on the roster due to an injury, but, surprise surprise, he is not the only one. Dominik Badinka will miss the tournament as well...

lol
