Galvas is with U17 at some tourney, but I guess he can definitelly be recalled.

I would totally love to see those two at WCH.

Offtopic: U16 losing to Slovaks 1:3 after second ..... thats not what you want :D

I think all our teams are getting killed this weekend... I barely recognized anyone on U20 squad.

The Czech U16 is missing, give or take, 6 players. But Slovaks are also missing two players at least, maybe more, I don't know.

Either way, they lost the game in the 1st period, which they dominated and in a classic fashion somehow only walked tied 1:1 out of it. Expected more from some of the Czech players though.

Young Jiricek already with a point.. YES!

It's all the names I wanted to see, especially Petr. Nice to see Zidlicky too! I'm a bit confused as Kitchener is still in playoffs, did they not need him at all? How bad was his season?lol

Židlický is now in Mississauga, which has already been relegated.

It's almost funny..

I think we are all excited about our D with guys like Jiricek, Galvas, Badinka, Port, Dvorak and Koci.

We won't be getting that at all.lol Jiricek and Dvorak are likely. Gavlas got cut, Badinka got hurt. Koci is here but wooren said he's not that great. I don't think Port is in playoffs.

I'm most excited to see Skok to be honest, never seen him before.

Btw that U20 tournament ... what an embarassing performance, one of the worst I have seen in years tbh. We scored only TWO goals, and we didnt scored agains Swiss and Slovaks lol. I sincerely hope that this was our B or even C team, cause otherway lord be with us in the future :D

Damn just when you think our youth is going somewhere, all (or most) of our youth teams has such a terrible tournamets. Only U17 was able to win at least something ...

Unfortunately it looks like this generation winning silver was just one big flop not a trend. U16 absolutely horrible, u20 was expected u18 horrible.

I saw the Czech Republic - Finland match and two thirds of the Czech Republic - Sweden match in Pilsen. Galvas was excellent against the Swedes in a defensive role, he managed to hit the puck several times in front of the opponent's player, so the goal did not result. I was far more disappointed by Svozil, we only saw him twice against Finland when he was sent off, otherwise he didn't show anything. And yesterday, the Swedes played him several times like an immovable cone. Well, every player has the right to underperform and Svozil can play better in the next tournament, but this tournament he did not play well against Nordic teams at all and that is a higher quality than Slovakia and Switzerland.

It's 'almost' funny.. we have a 3 week training camp and then teams like Canada and US fly to Europe with minimal prep and anhilate us.lol

All I care about is final 4 and winning the quarter.... Germans and Slovaks probably feel the same and see us as their best chance to make quarters.. don't blame them!lol

The match with Slovakia will be fifty-fifty, I don't believe that we would win without problems. On the contrary, I personally expect the Slovaks to win. And the Germans will certainly feel that they have a good chance to succeed against this team. Last year, we played exceptionally well in power plays, now Kulich, Šapovaliv and Hamara are missing, only Šalé remains. We were average in 5v5. The truth is that the USA has a usntdp team there, which is well-matched and will be the biggest favorite.

No surprise there. I honestly have less and less faith in the team sadly.

As said above Petr is a terrible coach, we also lack depth especially in the offense. There Is just Sale. In defense our best D are year younger and Dvorak who hadnt play almost the whole season.

I think this team had potential, but It was butchered with injuries and a strange form decline in many players compared to how they played in fall/Winter.

When I was trying to make the roster for this team for the first time I was really optimistic And thought we can get to semis. Now I think qf is maximum for us, And I am honestly worried we may even not get there. Slovaks will be on similar level and we kinda almost always have problems with Germans.

The team seems completely out of form sadly. Also latest results of our youth teams also doesnt help in being optimistic even about u18 lol.

But I wish and Hope that I am wrong of course.

Edit: But on the more positive note. I really hope and believe, that we can field a much stronger team next year. You know in D with Jiricek, Badinka, Galvas, (Skok) all being in their draft year and in optimal strength for U18. And in offense with Jecho and Benak supported with interesting looking guys like Titlbach, O.Kos, Kral or maybe D.Pavlik . I honestly think it can be better next year.

I believe in a similar development of the situation. Last year we took advantage of the circumstances in the tournament and won in qf, but we didn't really play super well except for pp. I actually suffered watching HGC this season, that team had two lines on offense. The rest of the team was made up of fighters who had practically nothing to offer compared to the other teams. If there was someone who should have played good hockey for it (I think Šimek, maybe...), he was lost among the others. And it was similar except for one tournament (I guess the competition was far from the best available) every time. So I don't expect anything from the tournament, realistically our result is qf and it probably won't be anything definite to advance there at all. Next year we should have a better team with more depth. And maybe another coach.

Badinaka is 05-born, so he won't be available next year.
