Some cuts: Petr Kváča, defenders Lukáš Kaňák, Vojtěch Budík, Jakub Jeřábek, Libor Šulák and Richard Nedomlel and forward Jan Hladonik, Adam Klapka, Patrik Zdráhal, Pavel Kousal, Petr Fridrich and Ondřej Beránek.

I was really surprised to see Jerabek and Sulak gone so soon.. not upset but surprised. I really enjoyed Zdrahal and Klapka but figured they had no chance.

Knot won't join due to injury.
Sobotka declined.

They all have a contract except Simon. I think he came to try out for a Euro gig but I could be wrong. He is the only UFA in the group. Voracek said no and he had a contract (not complaining but I'm a huge fan) and Kubalik did not have a contract and said no as well (also not complaining).

Now waiting for one of Necas/Pastrnak, Vanecek/Gudas, Rittich (UFA)/Francouz and Kampf-Kase/Palat/Rutta

All pipe dreams! Kase is UFA with a very bad history of head hits but I want to see him represent once!

Sorry, forgot about Jaskin! I"m not sure what he's hoping for to be honest. His best bet was to return to KHL but that's not looking likely. Curious if he a: makes our team and b: where he lands next year. Poor guy had some awful luck.. slow NHL start, injury and the league that made him famous is in trouble. All inside of 10 months. No way he saw all that happening!

Hronek, Simek, Jiricek ... Scotka, Musil, Kundratek and Krejcik? woof. I don't see any NHL help coming. Put Musil with Hronek in an old school pairing.

On LD I'd go for Simek, Sklenicka (modern defensive guys who can skate, hit and move the puck) and Musil (a throwback woodcuter who knows his limits, with sound positioning and low risk style).

On RD: Hronek (MVP for us on international stage), Jiricek (by far the biggest blue line talent in years for us, plays a high risk - high reward hockey, good partner for Sklenicka) and Kundratek (a two way, do-it-all guy with a decent shot). Rutta would be a nice addition if the Leafs make it.

One of my favs.. I was actually hoping he'd get a NHL deal or tryout. You'll love him... skates hard, big body and can put up some points. I notice him every shift in a good way.

Do you have idea why Tomas Zohorna is not on the team. The Zohorna brothers without eachother is like Daniel Sedin without Henrik Sedin.

Speaking of Smejkal, i think the plane is him on same line with Zohorna brothers in Oskarshamn.

One declined to my knowledge. I could be wrong but I think I read that. Shame that Radim is in AHL or pressbox... I would've liked him here. And I used to complain about the Zohornas. Now I'm a fan!

Well, I think the Czech wait for the medal will just end in Tampere. The group of euro players is definitely stronger than Sweden, accessories such as Hertl or Vrana also increase the team's strength. From my point of view, even with such a defense, they can do the result, because if they follow the system of the game, they can cover the shortcomings thanks to the system. I don't even think that Jalonen will change the lineup ten times before the quarterfinals like Pesan, he is such an experienced and intelligent guy that he will find a suitable composition relatively quickly. I have to admit that the Jalonen wish them success, because I will no longer have to read the opinions of people like Ruzicka, who claim that a foreigner should not train NT and that Czechs still have enough quality coaches.

Zdrahal is back! A few NHLer's wont' arrive till Friday (I think Simek, Hertl and one more).

Also, a few years ago I said we need to talk to Finland and see what they are doing right. I remember around 2010 we both had a medal draught at World Juniors and since then they've won a lot and we keep losing.

By that I didn't mean hire a Finnish coach and have so many of our best Euro's go to Finland but I keep reading about our players moving to Finland.. eg. Machovsky and Malek in the last 2 days are doing the 'Dostal' after Skarek and Malik.

On the other hand.. I'd like to thank Finland for doing more for our program then the Extraliga.lol

I did not want the situation from the Olympic Games to be repeated, when the team lacked speed. And the team includes Krejčí and Červenka, who are not very good skaters. Sobotka was also in the team at the Olympics, which clearly harmed the team. I think that by adding one of the Nečas-Pasta pair, or an additional Palát and Gudas defense, I would be maximally satisfied with the composition.

I wish Filip a speedy recovery and perhaps finally a really good performance in the NHL.

I've been a big Simon fan since the Forsberg shootout goal against Canada at world Juniors. Plays better for us like a Stepanek in tennis.

I'm definitely not making a cartwheel , I'm just almost certain that a team made up largely of slow players, or those who are clearly out of shape and their contribution is debatable, wouldn't be what can give us hope for a good position. And yes, I agree that we are already very strong at C, which is why Kovář is not sorry for my participation. Although Červenka will probably play with Špaček and one of them will be on the wing, they have already played together at the Czech Games.

I feel like the sklenicka-jiricek pairing may be a lock. Cervenka on wing also seems to be a thing. Spacek and Vrana both seem to piss of coaches.. surprised they are together.lol. Ftr... I love the idea.
