WC: Czech Team 2022

In terms of performance, both Vejmelka and Dostál, Malík still have to prove their performance. But this is not important, it would still be the third in a row. So I wish the current coach he can do it.
Exactly this... Don't think he should play a game. Even if he was just practicing with national team and final cut and I would be happy. Curious if he'd okay the U20 in summer as he is eligible for the tournament.

I feel we need to push the youth a little more right now and reset a little. I don't expect a gold medal for it but progress would be good.

Since I'm going on a bit.. cervenka is available. I would welcome him with open arms!

Cervenka, Vrana, Hertl and Krejci would be a hell of a start to our top 6!!!! Mix in youth and a good Finnish coach and we may have something here.

Here is todays lineup... Blumel went from 13th forward to first line. I hope this means his injuries are healling well.

Happy to see Lang in there.. he's a guy I could see eventually making it to North America on a 2 way contract and trying to crack NHL ala Reichel/Zohorna/Pour/Chalupa etc.

Kucerik was a nice surprise at Jr's.. happy he's getting some looks as well!

Klapka with the between the legs shot in tight.. post and out. Impressive move for a 6'7 guy! Maybe in 4 years him and kondelik can be in our bottom 6 with istap safin. Just a gigantic line!

They cut 5 guys... and added 7.

Real happy to see Klok and Jiricek. Not sure how happy I am to see Jerabek. I'm a fan but I was sort of thinking the Olympics were it for him.

Very happy to see Smejkal.

With current NHL standings and contract-sitaution in mind:

Vrana - Hertl - Voracek
Cervenka - Krejci - Kovar
Sekac - Faksa - Matej Stransky
Smejkal - Spacek - Jasek
Chaplik, Jenik

Simek - Hronek
Galvas - Musil
Klok - Knot
Sulak - Kostalek

Vejmelka
Malik
Hrubec

No idea if Kovar can play winger, but i think he can do it. I think both Kovar and Cervenka will look better under Jalonen.

Is Vrana back from injury?

Sekac and Stransky had very good season in NLA.

Sure Malik is young but just look at his stats. He is standing on his head.

I firmly believe that the coach puts it differently. The second lines makes me sick, we tried something similar at the Olympics and really never again.
There should be faster and younger players, Chlapík and Tomášek should have almost certain nominations. I also hope that Špaček will get more space and I would like if Sedlák was okay, he should definitely not miss the nomination.

I know. But perhaps under Jalonen it will work. Its worth a second try.

I'm not sure what the deal is with the AHL guys... sometimes they get sent back to AHL and aren't allowed to go. Ideally I'd take Dostal, Kral, Galvas, Jenik and Kaut from AHL. No idea if even possible.

Agree with Antti - I'd like to see Chlapik and Spacek with some more minutes.

The Top 6 looks beautiful but I'd like a younger guy in there somewhere!

I'd think Blumel has a very good chance of making it. We arguably have a lot of forwards of similar type qualities, curious what Jalonen does.

D is a mess like always... Only musts for me are Hronek and Klok.

This is the U18 nominations... Only D I know is Hamara. Forwards seem to have some intriguing names with Sapvaliv, Kulick and Sale!

No idea what to expect from this group or how they compare to the others.

I'm very glad that overseas players could come. Šapovaliv and Slavíček are very important for the team, without them the team would be much weaker. Slavíček doesn't have many points, but he plays in a good team and probably doesn't have as much IT. But he always played very well in the national team and with great taste, I have a feeling that this team really needs agile players, sometimes the team looked very slow on the ice.
At the same time, I am glad that Jecho plays for U17, he has nothing to do in U18 yet and he also had a very bad end of the season according to the points. We also have visions of a generational player.
On the contrary, Petr is there, my opinion is that there are several better players in the U17 team (and they could easily replace some players of the year 04), this player remarkably reminds me of Kaut (from the few that I saw ..), probably good player, but really bad cardio .. Last match against the Slovaks played at three centers and I had a feeling that maybe he would die on the ice .. As I write, reminds me of Kaut. If it is played often without interruption, it has a huge problem.
Apart from Hamara, I am curious about Prčík in defense, he will probably be the second key defender, I liked his movement and the desire to attack from time to time. And in the attack .. Apart from those few names, it will probably be a big average, I would easily take another attack from the U17 ..:sarcasm:

So 6th place like always?lol

Jalonen said he will be calling Cervenka now that his season is over. I want a youth movement but do like this move and hope Cervus plays for us!

Speaking of young... Tomasek is out! Broken ankle in a pretty ugly fashion.

Simon Hrubec is out. They are having a child. I didn't expect to see him in any case.

Vejmelka and Dostal please!

Tomasek is 26, in what world is that young when it comes to hockey players.

Novotny and rest of the old oafs can go kick rocks though, injuring the best player of the playoffs when the series was pretty much decided. It will cost Sparta the title more than likely and it's a loss for the national team as well - Tomasek was playing terrific hockey, I don't understand how he hasn't gotten a chance overseas yet.

It will be fun to watch Ceske Budejovice become irrelevant for years again as half of their squad retires whithin the next two years though.

What a shame.

A remider this is the same goalie who got outperformed by every goalie but the Chinese back-up at the Olympics. There are dozens of goalies who should get their shot before the coaches even think of the possibility of inviting this guy again.

Well.. f***.

While I didn't care much about Hrubec being unavilable... the idea of Will wasn't that bad to me. However, I REALLY wanted Klok!

Today's lineup... If I'm being honest, the only 2 forwards I'm a fan of are Smejkal and Blumel. None of the D jump out at me at all (nice flow on Jordan). Ooops.. Jiricek!!!

Klapka with a beaut.. 21 and a giant. Undrafted and underwhelming stats but he seems to be growing into that body. The next Radim Zohornas?
