Boucher is not great ... the forced chatter about Wilson & Reaves became highly annoying ... But I liked Mess & Chelios, and Wicshusen with the play by play.
I only saw a tiny bit but Mess looked very comfortable in the studio. Was impressed. And nice to - for once - see a friendly face on a national broadcast.

Julius Goaty made a between the legs pass to himself. Historic night.
Gauthier in junior had 54 games played one season and was 41 goals + 16 assists.....LOL....those are Kreider like numbers . Let the kid play...he will eventually score a few in due time . Don't forget he also played in two World Juniors with Team Canada . Power forwards take TIME .

Totally agree. Things are starting to slow down for him. You can see it…just right there. He’s in the right place and making the right decisions. He’s just squeezing the stick too tight. But he’s getting there. And as you say, power forwards take time.

Barron and Gauthier seem to play a simple, effective game together. Both big bodies, use their size and speed to keep the game simple and get pucks to the net.
Yeah it was only one game but Barron showed me what many had been hoping Chytil would be like. He was physical, skated well, and created some opportunities for himself and the line. Let him play IMO ahead of FC.

I think Hunt needs to sit a game or two
He’s fine as a fourth liner, completely out of place on the second line, but there aren’t many better options right now with injuries (outside of moving up Goodrow but that hurts the bottom 6). Could see the capitals baiting Panarin to pass Hunt the puck in the neutral zone as that would then just kill the play when he dumped it in

Hard to find too much to complain about but i'm a Rangers fan so i'll try. Why isn't Strome held accountable for those penalties? A good portion of the roster would be missing games after stupidity like that.

Honestly, what are the adds, really? A Lekhonen type would help. Complete player, gamer, can play up and down the lineup.

Assuming Kakko is back for the end of the season, where is the room to even add a big piece?

Could not have said that any better . Gauthier and Barron set the tempo early . Pencil these two in as Rangers for the next 5 years . At a million each it solves 2 pieces on our bottom six going forward . Gauthier has the size and speed and does it all except score...and that should come at some point . Let Gallant work with him for rest of season . It's not like his value will diminish . I actually liked that play he made on his opposite wing on Carlsson...turned him inside out .
Neither are signing a 1 million 5 year contract. Gauthier had a good game tonight but he needs to show a lot more to even be considered making the opening roster next year. Sustain what took place tonight and he'll have a place. Play like the previous 50 games and he better find a new home.

Very happy to give #13 a vote for this one.

Big win for the team last night.

Messier's comments were bank on in the intermission regarding goal differential. They win often, but they don't often blow team out. Igor wins games for them.

Maybe Kakko is the piece that goes. Wouldn’t be terrible, if packaged with Kravtsov (plus) for a solid top-six player in his mid-twenties.

Laf looked the same as he had for a while now, pretty good, not amazing, but solid and worthy of a point every other game or so. He's been setting up wide open slot chances not converted, last night's drop pass was nice and perfect spot, but not nearly as good as some of the other passes he's been making. Was just snake bitten points wise. Nice to see a softie (can 100mph bomb really be a softie lol) go in off a nice play from him getting him a point.

Also can MSG start showing some shot speed stats live? Or player speed live? I skip the intermissions and their shtick of showing player speed on goals is iight, but they can do so much more. Kreider breaking wide from the NZ, have their production dude click 'show speed' for like 2 seconds and it pops up in the corner, and turn it off right after so it doesn't get in the way. After a wicked wrister with a gorgeous glove save, show the shot speed. Not only for goals. But we can start with goals. Was nice to see Zbad's shot speed at 100mph on his goal. You know he can rip it with the best of them but seeing his in game shot speed is awesome and adds to the broadcast. Laf really laid it on a tee for him to hammer it like that.

How many times did I read boy the Rangers have come a long way since that opening night loss to the Caps…

here are the Rangers in 10 game segments:

6-2-2
7-2-1
6-3-1
7-3-0
6-3-1

stsrted a new one with a win.

the Rangers have been really good all year. They just happened to play Georgiev that night and he’s awful
Unsustainable. This is what I was told. The Math doesn't lie.
