You're changing the goal posts. You said charter rights *only* have to do with your interactions with the government. Now you're a charter rights expert quoting what it *really* applies to. I.e., you're full of it.

No. If you read what I said, I wrote that the Charter only applies to your relationship with the government. The Ontario Human Rights Code applies to the relationship with private businesses, for which are all those listed categories.

Gonna just put you on ignore. Probably best for both of us.

Who said otherwise? I wouldn't serve someone that has Covid either. But what does that have to do with whether I have a vaccination passport or not?

Ironically though, my dentist has upped his texting game recently constantly badgering me to come in (which tells me he's hurting) and I keep saying no because...you know, Covid.

I went to the dentist for a dental Emergency, but cancelled my cleaning appointments. Took my temperature and a lot of questions before I was allowed in.

Vaccine discrimination has never to my knowledge gone to the supreme court before, so it's unclear how it would be handled if it did and what the definitive answer would be.

The Adamson BBQ ordeal might change that if it ends up there, but I imagine the govt. will want to avoid that.

The only way it would stand a chance is if the reason for deciding not to was based on a charter right -akin to JW and blood transfusions.

Lots of employers are trying to get their employees in the states vaccinated, and trying to jump the queue.

It should also be noted that rights can be legally infringed upon given specific contexts, for which a pandemic would likely apply as a reasonable limitation

Weird I don't know where you live/how you live but in my life I seem to need my ID in order to buy booze, enter a bar, my passport to leave Canada, my Visa to buy Leaf tickets, my SIN in order to work, my health card for the doctors.....but yes one more piece of paper is going to collapse the system.

Imagine this board in 2002 when passports became mandatory to leave Canada pretty much. OMG IM NEVER TRAVELLING AGAIN, THE GOVERNMENT JUST KEEPS ADDING BURDENS.

dreaming that you think government can impose vaccine passports
They are lost

So it wouldn't stand a chance if someone was discriminated for not having proof of not having a disease? I think I disagree.

Pfizer asked trump if he wanted to buy more than the initial 100 million (50 million people). I guess he said no back in summer. Pfizer said it wouldn’t get anymore until after it gave supplies to all countries that committed to first batch, Trump signed an executive order today prohibiting exports of all vaccines until US has vaccinated those that want one.

Not sure if that affects the ones manufactured in other countries.

I think if MLSE says vaccination card required if you want to attend a Game in May, don’t think anything we can do.

I support controls since I'll comply and if it gives me an edge up why not. If someone doesn't want to comply that's their choice.

Everyone should be entitled to live in a safe environment.

Why are people so quick to give up their freedoms so easily over such a minor virus??

1. After all this time barely 1% of all Canadians have been infected by the virus so why are people worried about a virus that hasn't even touched 99% of Canadians in the country?

2. The overwhelming number of people affected are long term care patients and the most sick people. IE the general population has remained almost completely untouched all this time.

3. The vaccine when it becomes widespread will be available to anyone who wants it and supposedly its very effective against the virus.

So why the need to either force or punish people who choose not to take the vaccine when there's absolutely no reason to other than the media and our leaders has done such an amazing and effective job of putting fear into people to the point that many will comply with anything they say?

What right is it infringing upon?

Well, it's a charter right to be able to move freely between provinces. As in, it's written right into the charter I can go anywhere in the country. I own a property in NS and I will be wanting to go there. What if NS says I need an immunity passport to go there? Is that an infringement on my rights? This isn't a thought exercise, I'm actually worried about that.

None of those things required me to do anything special like take a vaccine with unknown long term side effects. Very, very different.

Exactly....It's not like they issue a warning with every passport that you might get some weird unforeseen complication after you take possession of it.

People say it isn't mandatory...yet they sure are making it seem like it is. Problem is...most people want someone else to take the shot and they "might" get it themselves at a later date if they see the people that got it first are ok. Problem is...a lot of stuff may happen to your body at a much later date...that should worry people.

If I had to take a shot it would be the Astrazeneca vaccine that is done with a neutered virus and not this MRNA- first time in history we made a vaccine this way crap- from Pfizer or Moderna. I can deal with the regular style vaccines...its the new stuff that has not been thoroughly investigated for years that I am not going near.
