As a Whitby residentI find this quite alarming and disappointing. With the increasing numbers in Durham/Whitby one must wonder how much of the case increases can be contributed to the above story.

Im not sure it ever reaches 60-70% - as soon as it get administered to the elderly and vulnerable that want it, then fully open.

I won't be getting the vaccine for host of reasons. I haven't worn a mask all this time and only social distance out of respect for the concerns of others. If others like me are "anti vaxxers" then I don't think it's us you will have to worry about. You could shout sneeze or cough in my vicinity and I wouldn't flinch, I have an immune system and it functions just fine. We all want to go back to normal, I have my doubts that will ever happen though.

Where do you live? Everywhere I’ve been in Ontario masks are mandatory.

I was just wondering. Most establishments won’t allow entry without a mask. I travel all over Ontario.

Agreed. That 60-70% number is wishful thinking. Get it to the elderly, front-line workers, and other at-risk people. Then let’s move on from this.

But I’m afraid the government and a lot of these prominent health officials will attempt to stretch out this crisis as long as possible. These people are human. Human beings with egos and flaws. Especially these people who are at the top of their professions. They’ve been thrust into incredibly powerful positions. Will they let go of all of it voluntarily?

In New Zealand your supposed to be allowed to move freely between provinces as well but when the lockdown went into place people off the street banded together, set up roadblocks between provinces, stopped traffic then questioned people about they're movements

Just like roving mobs of vigilantes :laugh:

this is playing out EXACTLY the way we said it would back in the summer - that we will need "vaccine cards" to go anywhere or do anything.

many here laughed it off as a "conspiracy theory"

well. this is the 2nd "conspiracy theory" to come true this year.

The first one is this ENTIRE situation. Something out of a movie.

The second one is that we can't go anywhere or do anything without swiping a card.

If we had talked about this a year ago before any of this happened, we would be called a "conspiracy nut-job"



I'm honestly surprised that people still think that any further ideas of what's yet to come would be a "conspiracy theory", seeing as they all seem to be coming true

I'm just curious, not expressing an opinion btw.

"I have a medical exemption" yeah I know first hand that somehow works (in big box stores) but do you have any kind of doctors note to present if asked?

I work in a big-box store and once in a while some jackass comes in and claims they "can't" wear a mask.

I remember the first one way back when. This dude, let's call him Terry, claimed he's just had a double lung transplant and proceeded to get into very loud arguments with everyone in the store, the cops came and took him away eventually because the cashier refused to let him use a gift card to buy Labatt's Blue and he just continued to become more and more stand-offish. The guy seemed like a real POS to me and all my co-workers.

I say do your part and wear a mask. It's not that hard and even if it seems silly, it might actually do a lot of good, but some people don't care about anyone else and I guess that's what some people think freedom is. Screw everyone else, does this affect me?

I'm not wearing one to remind people that not all of us are submissive bitches. Who elected the people giving these orders? Who's ever heard of Teresa Tam or De Villa prior to covid? Tory, Ford, Trudeau all say the same thing "trust the health experts". How about trusting your instinct? You're either lying or completely oblivious if you don't think anything fishy is going on.

I also can't stand that children are being forced to wear masks. Hardly anyone thinks it's a big deal that kids are being taught to be scared of others and that we're all germ infested.

first it was masks are not needed. then it was yes masks are needed. then no, then yes again. then they said 15,000 dead in Ontario by the end of March. Which ended up being... a few.

if our "trusted health experts" can't even figure out whether a mask will help a virus situation or not, how the hell are they going to figure out what to do about a vaccine? Excuse my naievety, but wouldnt simple mask use be the easiest and most basic component to figure out, especially when being figured out by high-powered scientists and health experts who study virus for a living???

hey, did you know that pretty soon we're going to be attacked by a virus? It'll be the entire planet. We'll all be wearing masks and ordered to stay at home. We wont go to work, won't be allowed into stores, and all sports leagues will be shut down.

They'll be tracking us on our phones. Where we go, and whether or not we have the virus.

If we want to go anywhere or do anything once it eases up, we'll have to start swiping our "vaccine cards" to gain entry. Retail stores, restaurants, sporting venues, etc - will install scanning machines at their entrances where we will swipe the card. No card, no entry. No more just walking into a store freely. Swipe, scan. No more travelling across the country through the provinces without the card.


Dude... are you on drugs? That's the funniest, most paranoid sh- I've ever heard lol. You conspiracy theorists are total wack jobs. Where's your tin foil hat?

The worst part of this story is that he was trying to buy Labatt beer.

2 people vaccinated yesterday had severe reactions and uk issued a warning saying people with history of allergic reactions should not take vaccine

this is going to be a nightmare

Doctor on the news said pregnant woman won’t in the vaccine study so they will not be allowed to get the vaccine
