I've basically been cash free for a decade so, meh. I get the concern though. The government will know everything you do financially. Maybe that doesn't seem like a big deal at first but, for example, how do you know the banks, the Beer Store and 407 ETR aren't sharing their data with the insurance companies? In fact, I bet they do. Data is money these days. But I've known for a while there's no way around it. Try getting by without using Google (maps, chrome, gmail, waze, whatever - they give it to you for "free"), Microsoft, Amazon, a bank, other web browsers, social media, etc. They all have our data to one extent or another. I bet Orwell didn't see that coming. Bottom line is, why fight a digital currency? The gov probably already knows everything thy need to know about you.
