I was PISSED about the Sopranos ending when it happened, seemed like Chase was trolling the audience, which he was and he liked to do. But with distance i grew to respect it, and now I genuinely like it cause I buy the argument that we know what happened and it wasn't meant to be totally ambiguous (being purposely vague for 20 year old spoilers but I think you know what I mean):

Members Only Jacket dude killed him

It makes the very end of "The Blue Comet" when we flashback to his conversation with Bobby pretty great on rewatch if you buy that argument.

Edit: Now the finale I think I hate the most is probably Picard Season 1 as a finale for TNG. I didn't even watch 2 or 3 I hated it so much. I heard 3 was a solid course correction but I just don't care anymore, these studios have squeezed the last drop of blood they can from their various IP stones.

For anime fans. Mob Psycho 100 is great.
It's so nice to watch a well-drawn cartoon, at the same time with good irony, without kinks and with good morals, with good eternal meanings. A wonderful cartoon where Japanese animation shows itself, but it does not become wildness, which is impossible for an adult to perceive.

Im waiting for new Miyazaki movie.

Absolutely. That Christmas diner episode was wild! Stoked for S3 already!
I don't know but I have a feeling that episode was SUPPOSED to be just another 30 minute one but once they saw the acting chops being dropped by the actors they said screw it and let the performances spill out. JLC will probably get nominated for best guest appearance in a series for that ep if I had to guess.

I’ve always enjoyed Japanese horror movies which have a very different aesthetic and idea of dread from most western movies. The original grudge is fantastic for example and even the original Ring (Ringu in thr original if memory serves). Is there a good anime horror movie or show I could watch? Something that tells a coherent story of possible.

Perfect Blue. And you should not start to think that there are a lot of Japanese animation movies like that. Satoshi Con was very specific film director.
I like some literature, some animation(very limited part), classic movies, I like their horrors too. One Missed Call (Japanese version) was great in the moment. May be it isn't working well now as it was.
And gaming. Silent hill (especially second part for me) is awesome and scary. With great deep story. If you are not gaming person(you should start to be, there are a lot of great master pieces for adult men), you can check some story videos about this game. If you will decide to do it, find some longer YouTube films with good quality.

The Promised Neverland season 1 has a lot of dread and tension from the horror rather than jump scares. It’s pretty great.

I did hear season 2 is a mess so I didn’t even try to. Season 1 is so good that I don’t even mind stopping.

Death Note is another awesome anime show. A little less horror but still full of tension and dread if that’s what you’re enjoying from them.

Season 2 is so horrible. But I also dont think season 1 is very good either and is overrated I think for promised neverland

Thanks for that recommendation. Once we get my youngest off to college next week I should start to have some time for myself. Really the first time in about 27 years. Crazy to think about that. I enjoyed the first Silent Hill movie. Japanese horror tends not to be as jump scare oriented and their movies aren’t as reliant on the maniac with a knife who kills people so stupid they deserve it. There is actually a commercial in the US that makes fun of how dumb the characters in slasher movies are.

I like something with a supernatural element that treats the subject matter with some consistency and intelligence and tells a good enough story it’s not just a monster picking off sitting ducks. And they have to come up with a good reason the characters don’t just get in the car and drive off after people start dying or it gets very intense and why the cellphones don’t work.

Promised Neverland does try to have “smart” victims and has a reason why they can’t bounce.

Death Note, the star of our story doesn’t want to leave. While he faces a lot of dread, he arguably is the horror.

They’re both horror-thrillers, I guess. Using mystery and fear to set the mood.

I like Death Note the best and it’s classified as horror but it’s more like the movie Se7en is horror than the movies Saw or Scream. (Why did 3 movies starting with S pop into my head as examples?)

The slowest killer with the spoon or something like that.

Its very interesting because Lovecraft made the type of horror that orientted on something bigger, something noninderstandable, unstopable sorrow etc. But Japanese movie makers, artists and game developers made better adaptations and made it much earlier.

I was dreaming about specific career in 2004 before picking the university. And after all of this years and all of my jobs and different decisions I finally got a job I wanted so long time ago. Yeah, I can understand that some things in our lifes can take a lot of years.

Silent hill games are much better and have much more depth than movie. Movie is pretty good horror anyway.

The movie did a decent job with the story and the sense of mystery added to the story. The main characters trying to rescue the little girl provided a reasonable platform for the story to unfold and the wolrd created in the movie has rules that it follows which allows the characters to proceed without cheating the audience.

Did you like Lighthouse movie with Pattinson? If you do, director made new movie "Northman". Its not as good but still solid movie. Not a horror at all.

Horror I liked the most from what I saw in the last time was Antrum. If you watch a lot of Horror movies, may be you will find it interesting.

Haven’t you seen my posts crapping on the Lighthouse? I have gone back and forth with @NjDevsRR multiple times multiple times over that movie. My middle son described it as Lovecraftian and I was excited to see it and was completely let down. Eggers also got his myths wrong in my view based on an interview he gave. His Northman movie was better since I had no specific expectations.

I like Lighthouse. May be you were in the wrong mood. Or you don't like theatrical style stuff.
"Wes Andersson"ish horror

It just didn’t work for me as a horror movie based on how it unfolded. If it worked for others I’m happy they enjoyed it. It’s a running joke with my kids now about how much I didn’t like it.

I absolutely hated that movie as well.

Have you seen the German series Dark on Netflix? That might be up your alley

Old one but Woman in the Dunes (1964) is pretty special. Started The Bear, liking it so far.

Really want to play a game but both AAA and indie stuff has been really unappealing to me the last two years.
