Did you like Sandman? It is a shame cause I thought the first season was just horrible and uninteresting. I feel like the books are much better

I just binged LOST from start to finish. Had never seen it before. I was kind of mad after the finale... then I watched a Youtube video explaining everything and now it makes sense... but they definitely did not do a good job explaining everything in the finale.
You didn't watch Game of Thrones?I mostly watched LOST live at the time (maybe started after season 1) - was a really good show for a few seasons, but by the final season (or 2) I was basically hate watching. I had already put in so much time that I had to see where it went, but that was overall probably the most disappointing conclusion to a series that I ever watched.

That's kind of what I just went through. Seasons 1-4 were fantastic. It got so out of control in the last two seasons. All the stuff/theories/characters/storylines that came out of nowhere had no payoff. It kind of wrapped up similarly to Game of Thrones. A final few episodes that was like "Oops, it's over! Thanks!"I mostly watched LOST live at the time (maybe started after season 1) - was a really good show for a few seasons, but by the final season (or 2) I was basically hate watching. I made the Trinity Killer season finale my series finale and I’ve never heard of a reason to regret that decision. The original Dexter finale for me was the worst finale of a show. I haven't watched the newer series yet.

Seems to me that button is in the worst possible location.I mostly watched LOST live at the time (maybe started after season 1) - was a really good show for a few seasons, but by the final season (or 2) I was basically hate watching. I mean the entirety of the show was essentially pointless, beloved as it was, so I kind of don't think they needed some massive send-off or some shocker finale.Seinfeld is another candidate for worst series finale.
The Seinfeld finale seemed lazy though. Larry David just brought back the side characters for one last rehash of the same stuff they already did. If there was anything that made Seinfeld great it was the writing and they just didn't try that last episode and it showed. It deserved better.I mean the entirety of the show was essentially pointless, beloved as it was, so I kind of don't think they needed some massive send-off or some shocker finale.
One of the best finales though was the finale of Better Call Saul which for my money is a top 5 show of all time and it isn't 5.
The end of GOT was executed terribly, but I didn't actually have much of a problem with where everything ended up. I think the major points are more or less where the source material was headed. They just got there by tripping and faceplanting across the finish line.I did watch Game of Thrones - much better overall series than Lost. The best parts of GOT was significantly better than the best parts of Lost and the ending did not suck nearly as much.
The end of GOT was annoying, but the end of Lost was infuriating.
I think we're mostly all in agreement that The Sopranos is likely one of the worst, which has been talked about endlessly.
I recently watched the Sopranos scene again where Christopher had the intervention. One really scary and sad thing that Christopher predicted (he was slightly off) was that Tony would have a ''heart attack by the time he's 50 with the way he eats''.
It was okay. I don't hate it anymore, but I don't love it either.I liked the Sopranos ending, thought it was a rather good way to end the show.
HIJACK on apple tv had that same sudden ending vibe. Was a great slow burn then the final ep felt like they skipped 2 ep and jammed 2 others into one and pulled the plug. That's kind of what I just went through. Seasons 1-4 were fantastic. I'm not going to pretend it's easy to wrap up a show... I always laugh thinking about how in Game of Thrones if you needed to go from Winterfell to Kings Landing it took 6 episodes... then in the final season John Snow is getting from the top to the bottom of the map like he's in a private jet.HIJACK on apple tv had that same sudden ending vibe. I’ve definitely softened on bad endings for tv shows as I’ve gotten older.I'm not going to pretend it's easy to wrap up a show... After seeing so many mediocre to bad endings to good shows, I’m now always of the mind that the ending likely won’t be as good as the beginning/middle and that’s just how telling an epic story goes. It’s epic and then the show normally has to answer everything, leave no loose ends, and have the world in a state where there aren’t any major changes on the horizon. It’s hard to be satisfying.
