Have you seen the Lighthouse?
I still haven't gotten around to trying that again. The first time I got bored after like half an hour. I was also pretty tired so maybe it was just bad timing. I liked both The Witch and The Northman, which Eggers also directed, and I'm looking forward to Nosferatu, his next movie which I think comes out next year?

I liked both the Northman and the Witch. The Lighthouse didn’t do it for me. Is he going to make Nosferatu? That would be up his alley.

Oppenheimer was fantastic.

I bet I was the only person in the UK who spotted Sean Avery.

Barbenhiemer!

Margot Robbie will legit make me try just about any movie she’s in to be honest. I still haven’t been able to force myself to start Babylon though.

Still anxiously waiting for Spiderverse and Guardians to come to Disney+ and streaming in general.

Yeah Barbie was very good. Pretty much came at it (the legacy of Barbie) from every angle you could possibly think of.

There's a guy who works on "The Dan Patrick Show" named Todd Fritz who's from NYC. His favorite band is Hall and Oates and he thinks the great Springsteen sucks!?! He was also in his forties and didn't know how to use a broom. He thought you pushed the dirt away from you. I think he should be institutionalized.

Completed the late night doubleheader and saw Oppenheimer. I enjoyed it, though it’s definitely a pretty typical prestige drama. Loved the way they used sound and some of the visuals at the most intense moments. If it was anybody but Cillian Murphy, it’s probably way worse but he says a lot without making a sound.

(The comparison is dumb but I’ll give the W to Barbie going head to head. Just more original and clever.)

Picked up Middle-Earth: Shadow of War + all DLC on the Steam summer sale for $8. Game is fantastic. I know a lot of people were turned off at release because of microtransactions, but all of those have been removed. If you were thinking about getting this game in the past you should definitely go for it. Highly recommended,

I decided I'm going to watch all of One Piece. It's been a lot of binging, and I'm almost halfway through! I can see why it's popular. It's not tremendously different from any other shonen anime, but the characters are fun and well developed, and there is very, very little filler relative to other long running series like Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach, etc.

In any case, about 550 episodes to go!

I purposefully will never watch One Piece. The worst thing that could happen to my life is that I love it.

Only things I’m making time for on TV right now are Foundation and After Party and I’m still enjoying them both.

Playing Jedi Survivor now. Felt very repetitive at the start, now that I'm into Chapter 3 it's shaping up nicely. Even has bounty hunting built in.

This is one of the few Star Wars things I’m still interested in but I’m still on old gen so I haven’t been able to play it yet. I did see today though they’re working on bringing it to old gen. The other thing I’m still interested in is Andor and IIRC they’re working through the writers strike and if that’s the case it’s going to be a f***ing disaster

Andor was down to shooting the final 2 episodes when the strike happened and they stopped production from what I read.

I'm in the same boat with still being on last gen console. I've been waiting since I really just can't afford to drop $400-500 on a new console right now. And I honestly should upgrade my TV first anyway. The thing is like 12 years old at least and puts out heat like a freaking furnace once it's been on for a couple hours. Which actually isn't bad in the winter but kind of a pain when it's 90+ degrees outside.

After Party is great, I'm 2 episodes behind but I didn't read about what they were doing for season 2 so I wasn't sure how they were gonna make it work but it's been hilarious.

For anyone not watching, each season revolves around a murder. Each suspect is interviewed in a separate episode and each episode uses a different movie/tv genre ,based on the characters personality, to tell their story. Each week feels fresh and the show gets to make new jokes with each new genre.

For anyone wanting a light comedy that has some roots poking fun at movie/tv genre it’s a strong recommend.

Also, credit to season 1, a person closely watching the Tv show could have solved the mystery before the Tv show revealed who the killer was but the show didn’t spoon feed the answer. The show is fun enough that I think they knew the mystery was of secondary importance but they still wrote it tightly anyway.

Amazon dropped a new season of Good Omens. If you enjoy light hearted fantasy with a diabolical edge then Neil Gaiman is your man. I can read almost anything he produces and would kill to have his writing chops. Well worth the watch so long as you like the genre.

It is a shame cause I thought the first season was just horrible and uninteresting. I feel like the books are much better
