Peterka has heavily been rumored to be one of the RFAs that will be an offer sheet target this summer. Buffalo probably wants to get out in front of it a bit and has already committed a lot of term and money to their core. He’s a younger Jake Guentzel and has an absurd amount of talent. Go for it, Drury.

Kreider really is perfect for them as a veteran with playoff experience that has been through some wars. I would be stunned if he waived to go there, for this year plus 2 more no less.

The Rangers have been thirsting over Buffalo Sabres reclamation projects for what seems like a decade. Is now the time?

Power and Peterka is too rich for Buffalo, IMO. Byram and Peterka is realistic. I’m not saying that because I’m trying to beat the Byram drum - I’d obviously take the Power return over Byram, but I don’t think Buffalo would do that. I do think they’d do Peterka + Byram for Laf + Schneider. Maybe we can get them to add McLeod for a 3rd or leave McLeod off and they send us a 3rd or prospect to balance the deal. I think Peterka + Byram for Laf + Schneider slightly favors them value wise but Power + Peterka favors us. If there’s a middle ground, I’d be curious to explore it.
I don't make that trade if Byram is the D-man coming back. I'd rather trade Laffy for Peterka straight up.

I would add on top of Laf+Schneids in that deal for sure from the Rangers side(for JJP+OP).

If I'm getting paid $8M a year, there's little I care about. Defending his behavior is ridiculous.

Wayne Gretzky was traded, Jagr was traded, Bobby Orr was traded. Spare me any of this outrage that somehow he was so wronged because he wasn't playing well & the team wanted to move on. And when all was said & done he wound up getting paid to play hockey in a place where its sunny every day & the golf courses are always green.
And where the cartoon character costumes are sanitized every day!

I think that’s the smart angle. Problem is once we get past the principle pieces, I don’t know what we’d send them. Laf is a different kind of forward for a pretty small and soft forward group (Tage bringing the entire roster up an inch of average height doesn’t count) and Schneider is RD which they need, but after that… they’re loaded with wing prospects. Otthman could be interesting because he’s got more of an edge, maybe? They don’t need LD prospects. Would we add Emery maybe? It seems Buffalo doesn’t want picks or non-ready prospects. I would add too. Just not sure what the play is.

This is possible and more likely. I was just trying to get the idea down. I’m still not sure how I feel about Byram honestly

If we didn't need Quick ourselves we could legit get a very good return for him
So many teams right now could use a goalie

Feels like prospects and picks could round out a deal there. Buffalo makes a "hockey trade", both teams get a 2 for 2 roster shake up and buffalo adds some additional assets.

Feels like the team is just getting more mid instead of any closer to a contender.

Lindgren out Soucy in
Trouba out Borgen in
Mancini out Vaak in
I’d say the D is better

F is more risky cause it’s Chytil, Smith , Kakko, Vesey out

JTM is the best player in but after that its Kids and wild card in Othmaan , Berard , Parsinnen , Brisson , Kalyiev

1st out but more picks in overall

Maybe throw in Kaliyev. He still has upside.

Where to? Gettysburg?
