The rangers added money, blocked good young players from long term roster spots and are still a mediocre team with a not great prospect pool. How is anyone exalting the performance of the GM? Even if you like the individual players, this team is worse off going forward than they were.
The GM feels the idiotic need to try to placate the egos of his clearly not good enough core. He’s wasting time.

Sorry mas -- if that were the case, Trouba and Goodrow would still be here.....hell, Strome might have been reacquired at the TDL just for giggles.

Based on what? He’s moved on from well like players in the room (Trouba/goodrow/Lindgren). Zbad/Bread/Kreider were always likely offseason moves.

Yeah the clauses make mid season things complicated and the cap hasn't swelled up yet.

Those guys will have takers this summer if the Rangers want to move on from them. It can't just be Kreider.

Extending Igor was f***ing stupid though. They could have sat on that one and let it play out. They'd either get him at a much more reasonable number right now or they could have flipped him and his reputation for a boat load of shit yesterday

His production has already decreased by 33% from last season to this one, people already writing him in as a productive top 6 player from the jump are setting themselves up for disappointment especially with our teams track record

Something tells me if he were Russian you'd be singing a different tune.

Again, your refusal to directly address my main pt here does not make you right and I will continue to call you out for it.

You DON'T KNOW yet you blindly insist best regimen for his cure is ONLY to sit, EXCLUSIVELY

I have said, maybe but it is also POSSIBLE that acceptable or better treatment is something like play less than full tilt, play harder, then go full tilt if you can, rinse + repeat.
You don't know yet you condemn and speak as if did

again, for as long as it takes, he IS injured, let that sink in
being injured, we have to accept whatev is best for his long term return, let that sink in

Yes, now would be the time to go long/max term, drive down the $$
The key here remains no nmc, reasonable ntc only

As always w/any player, need to assess cost/benefit of keeping vs selling.

bread, yes
good contributor but declining and we don't want him even at half-ish let alone anywhere near his current 11.6+
need to sell high here
As I said numerous times, THIS is where you go
Panarin at half small +
for
Bischell + 1st from DAL
esp since Bisch is out now

still possible for summer if they can figure out cap

Kreider = unknown b'c unclear medical etc does not immediately allow to estimate production and if we moved, what would someone pay for that production -- assuming it is reliable [enough].

That can't be helped.
If he has to be replaced -- and he does -- that is a temporary adjustment

If b'c the idiots who demand instant gratification/win now insist on giving him $$$ at this pt, it will extend beyond temporary and lead to extended team probs including by = a salary drain on our cap

You worry about the $'s that Mr. Dolan will spend and the movement clauses way more than I do.

Estimated cap for 25-26 $95.5 mil
Estimated cap for 26-27 $104 mil
Estimated cap for 27-28 $113.5 mil

Those are the numbers out there that I've seen and I've sure others have seen too.....and if there's a ceiling there will also be a floor that will go up every time the cap goes up.....and the Rangers are moving in guys on ELC and second contracts. So Jimmy's going to have to spend some cash like it or not and Jimmy can more than afford it.

As far as movement clauses the players negotiated for them. Professional sports unions ain't exactly like other unions but even so......I have been a card carrying member of two unions. I'm not a person that cares about the bosses and their problems. I tend to look at them in an adversarial way so I tend to side with the players. Kind of millionaires are better than billionaires and working people are the best of all.

Not what I'm saying, I'm saying if his linemates were anywheres decent he'd be around the 100 point range instead of slightly over a point a game. His production is actually really good considering his linemates production
What you are literally saying is it’s his linemates’ fault he’s at just over point a game and not around 100 pts… down about 28% from last year. Meanwhile the average drop of the rest of the line is 25.5%… One of the best lines in the league last year with the same linemates who apparently aren’t anywhere near decent… Lafreniere has had the least drastic drop off of the three for what it’s worth at 19% to Pan’s 28% drop.
Everything I said still stands.

I don't care about Dolan spending $$, I care about how effectively it is spent

But the NMCs are a real thing that have to go
They are just too constrictive

sufficient ntcs are adequate

I lean toward labor but judge ultimately on merit

Kreider just cashing checks at this point. Didnt hear his name once today
He was so bad yesterday I could hardly believe it. He must still be injured or just completely cooked. Whatever it is he shouldnt be playing. I guess they try to play him into form and hope he has a productive spring so they can get something nice back in a trade this summer. But now he`s value is plummeting for each game he plays. It`s sad actually, he used to be one of my favorite players.

Do the Rangers have little faith in Berard that they rather play an injured Kreider. All young players should request trades. This is getting to that point. It’s pathetic

Than Miller? We talking pure UFA's or RFA's with arb. rights as well?
We're talking anyone who is actually available. Don't list people who other teams have no intention of trading as though they are viable options. Most of the RFAs aren't available.

Happy we didn't move Kreider, Othmann and Jones for something tangible. They were difference makers today...

Let's keep sitting berard too. He is small so that's bad. Regardless of his positive impact on every level.

There is a difference between the "Kreider Mafia" and the "Fox Mafia". They aren't the same.
Othmann played a good game yesterday. He finished his checks on every shift. He plays a hard game. Playoff hockey is hard hockey. The offense will come.

Some Rangers fans like soft perimeter hockey. We see where those players have taken the franchise.
