Arizona has been floundering since they entered the league and they've had exactly zero draft lottery luck. It's asinine to believe that suddenly this year Gary's going to decide to "give" them the first puck when he's had plenty of opportunities prior.
Second. Just re-read my post. If Gary wanted to tilt draft lotteries to teams that really need to win, Buffalo would've gotten the pick in 2015, not Edmonton. Toronto wouldn't have gotten Matthews. I can give plenty of more examples as could you if you looked it up.
Third, Crosby? Really? In all the years of the draft lottery a franchise in trouble wins the jackpot once and that's your "evidence" it is/can be rigged? Very weak argument there.
Lastly, if Bettman or anyone else decided to rig the lottery and was discovered, ask yourself, would it be worth his job, possible lawsuits, tarnishing the image of the game, etc. for decades to give ... Arizona an elite player? Right. That's tinfoil hat nonsense.
