And it’s not already suspect? Rangers with the 2nd overall and then 1st overall. Unfortunately, for us Anaheim fans, it’s never gonna be allowed by the NHL for the Ducks to land Bedard.

It’s already suspect I agree. And it’s touché that Montreal got first overall while the draft was IN! Montreal.

Like coincidence? Highly unlikely. Anaheim or Vancouver deserves that first overall imo. Our teams never had one before.

And it better not goto the Blackhawks. I’ll say that much. They already got a Kane and a Toews. They don’t deserve Bedard. Sorry not sorry

As many of said, I don’t think anyone would trade Bedard, under any circumstances. You’re potentially getting a 120 point centre for ~1mil or so per year for 3 years. Then, you get him for likely 8 more years at fair market value. That’s worth too much to trade.

I'll put money on Bedard going to Arz. If not AZ it will be sharks or ducks. Bedard is about to be placed in a market that Bettman needs him in. And no market in need of more help then Az

That's why in 2015 McDavid ended up in Edmonton (Coyotes drafted 3rd), and in 2016 Matthews in Toronto while Arizona drafted 7th.

I don't know, but if Gary was rigging the draft so superstars ended up in needy markets he's done a pretty lousy job of it so far.

It would be beyond a "lousy job" to send the best prospect/player in the league to the league's most remote outpost

ARZ is in worst shape now then ever before, esp with new arena deal pending.

Remember how the pens were near bankruptcy amd all of a sudden won the Crosby sweepstakes?? Just saying familiar territory.......

Arizona has been irrelevant forever. Not trying to be mean to the fans, but they can’t even get a proper stadium working. I mean? The days of Shane Doan are gone. I been to their stadium this year it’s in a college rink a dink arena.

Why would a super star be given to them when they don’t have the capacity for the fans to see em. It’s like 5k capacity.

I bet my bottom dollar 10k would show up every night. And their stadium can’t support his market

It’s pending, good luck closing on it though. The NHL has been nothing but nice to Arizona. They should have relocated that team to Canada years ago. Give Toronto another franchise

Usa will get another team before Canada does.

If Mtl doesn't Win the Bedard derby, what kind of price would they have to pay to get him?

2023 1st (Mtl)
2023 1st (Flo)
Dach

Or

2023 1st (Mtl)
Choice of Suzuki or Caufield
Choice of Roy or Beck

Does it get it done? Or at least, is it a good starting point?
Have you lost your mind? No to both scenarios. We'll just keep our picks and star players thank you.

No.

Arizona has been floundering since they entered the league and they've had exactly zero draft lottery luck. It's asinine to believe that suddenly this year Gary's going to decide to "give" them the first puck when he's had plenty of opportunities prior.

Second. Just re-read my post. If Gary wanted to tilt draft lotteries to teams that really need to win, Buffalo would've gotten the pick in 2015, not Edmonton. Toronto wouldn't have gotten Matthews. I can give plenty of more examples as could you if you looked it up.

Third, Crosby? Really? In all the years of the draft lottery a franchise in trouble wins the jackpot once and that's your "evidence" it is/can be rigged? Very weak argument there.

Lastly, if Bettman or anyone else decided to rig the lottery and was discovered, ask yourself, would it be worth his job, possible lawsuits, tarnishing the image of the game, etc. for decades to give ... Arizona an elite player? Right. That's tinfoil hat nonsense.

just reading this OP makes my brain hurt. Whoever gets 1OA is never trading that pick, even for Habs 1st rounders for the next 5 drafts.

I still think Toronto will get another one. They have the audience for It. Can’t imagine the fans though. Leaf fans get very angry when it comes to hockey. Just like the Jets and Giants games in the NFL. I stay away from those games when friends invite me 🤣

Islanders and Rangers games are scary also

Why would any team consider for a price Habs would offer? Or easily accept?
Bedard is hoped to be a game changer
Ask for both '23 1sts, '24 1st, and Suzuki, Guhle and Caufield.
No reason to ask for less.
If it aint an offer seller just cant refuse, they'll just keep Bedard, and be happy.

Last statement? it already has. Why did Anaheim get Bobby Ryan and Pittsburgh got Crosby.

Like I said, Anaheim and Cannucks always get screwed. One of us should get Bedard. We can financially support em with media and sports fans willing to spend money.

We all saw how Kyle Turris turned out. Imagine giving em Bedard

Toronto isn't getting another team or they would already have one. It's the Leafs who won't let a second team in because ot will take away revenue from them. I believe the Leafs want huge compensation if another team is brought into Toronto area and that's squashed the talks

The Habs were the worst team in the NHL last year. They had the best odds so idk what you are whining about.

If the lotto balls go Anaheims way then great...but it's a lotto man. It wouldn't be weird if a team like Montreal (who has a good chance of having some of the best odds in the lotto) is in the top 3.

And no that's not a slap in the face to your franchise. Put the tinfoil hat away.

What will be refreshing is a future where Connor Bedard’s agent releases a statement stating that Connor will only play for a Canadian team.
Giving a taste of the cold dish called revenge for all those USA College players who circumvented their draft teams.

Will never happen. You’ll piss off the majority of NHL fans. America pays your bills Not Canada.

And Bettman knows that
