I’m a Ducks fan. And we been waiting a very very long time to get a first overall pick. And so has Vancouver. Those fans been waiting forever since joining the league.

And the league has always been throwing us in weird spots of the draft board with lottery results.

Habs got their gift last year. They should be happy of what they got. And not be greedy asking for another gift when lots of us haven’t had one yet
If the Habs won the 2nd & 3rd overall picks in the lottery then perhaps they could make a move for Bedard but aside from that there is no chance unless they win the first spot.

My point was I don’t want them in the top 5 in general. It’s not fair to Anaheim, Vancouver, Sharks, and Phoenix.

They just drafted first overall. And they want another top 5 pick? That’s not fair from just a NHL fan perspective

If Mtl doesn't Win the Bedard derby, what kind of price would they have to pay to get him?

2023 1st (Mtl)
2023 1st (Flo)
Dach

Or

2023 1st (Mtl)
Choice of Suzuki or Caufield
Choice of Roy or Beck

Does it get it done? Or at least, is it a good starting point?
Should probably add…
- a helmet filled with cottage cheese
- a Zon walnut bass with a graphite neck
- a PRS guitar with dragon inlay
- naked pictures of Bea Arthur

The world isn't fair kid.

It's not fair that the Habs finished last in a relatively weak draft - and the year before Bedard.

Stop bitching. Plenty of teams have had multiple high picks.

Nobody is giving up anything for Bedard because it would have to be absolutely insane as far as a return and I dont think theres a GM dumb enough to do it. Thats saying something considering how absolutely inept some of these GMs seem.

You wouldn’t have traded your first overall for two top fifteen picks last season (for example, Columbus’s six from Chicago and their own twelve), and that was a significantly weaker draft and a pick you already regret. What makes you think any team would even consider trading Bedard? Put the pipe down.

if Bedard goes to any other team than the one that drafts him at 1 then its Vancouver but hes going to stay with the team that drafts him 100 percent of the time.

You still exist on this site, wow.

Scratch that, Bozak and a 2nd ;)

Do you work for the Avs front office now? Where you the architect of their cup win and did you have Dater jailed for disinformation?

???

Why would he ever willingly choose to go to Vancouver right now?

Look at the stat of that organization.

This reads like you are possibly 11 or 12.

You may or may not win it all, but it's a "Lottery."

The Habs waited from 1980 to get a first overall pick. 1980. That's 13 years before your Ducks even entered the NHL.

Crying about "we deserve this" is BS. Saying it's rigged against you is also BS. Just hope for the best and let the chips fall where they may.

That’s your opinion, I have mine. Lots of fans do. The fact of the matter is Habs had their pick. Some of the other teams haven’t.

Anaheim, Coyotes, Vancouver. One of us should be prioritized. It’s fine though, it’s all moot since Habs are winning.

you said the league would never allow the Ducks to land Bedard… edit: your post 86, bud.
Pure whining before the facts.

its a lottery.
not gonna even out like Christmas presents in a family.
Again, your definition of whining is pretty loose. My post was to another Ducks fan and was spoken as a matter of fact type post as in don’t get your hopes up. Did you see me saying anything about it not being fair or that the ducks deserve it? That would be the other poster, not me. It’s whatever to me. I just don’t expect them to land it as my opinion is that the draft lottery is rigged. And that’s not at all whining, but rather stating my opinion.

Actually it’s not an opinion that you deserve anything. The league decided they didn’t want teams blatantly tanking so they implemented a lottery system. Then they tweaked it so you can only win twice in a five year span after teams won multiple times.

Why should Anaheim, Arizona or ___ be prioritized over anyone else?

This isn’t “everyone gets a trophy,” it’s a system where you have a chance. That’s it, that’s all… Anything else is just whining.

Lottery is rigged…
Losers at the roulette wheel have same « opinion ». Winners claim the have a system.
Losers of hockey games say referees are biased against their victimized team. Winners have discipline.
This type of « opinion » has spreaded in the political sphere. Even in beauty pageants!

18% or so being best odds at the NHL lottery means any winning team will be lucky to land Bedard. Nobody should get their hopes up. Will become most hated team in NHL, like Pit after the Crosby coin toss.

People have more and more problems with losing. Some complain pre-losing, seems to be your case. « Did you see me saying anything about it not being fair … as my opinion is that the draft lottery is rigged » Yeah i’m confused.

Kiddie didnt make varsity team: coach is wrong.
Future rocket scientist gets B- grade: teacher is wrong

My opinion as a retired high school teacher and coach.

Its probably been suggested, but what if the two picka offered by Montreal are really early? Like 2nd and 5th or something?

I get that Bedard is the next superstar, but is the difference between him and the next guy that huge that a rebuilding team like Chicago wouldnt go for like, Suzuki + 2nd OA + 5th oa?

Obviously anything is a conjecture at this point, if the picks are 8th and 15th I understand that its a reaounding no
The picks will probably look more like 8th and 15th if mtl keeps on winning…..for what resaon i don’t understand though…..giving the young guys a winning attitude and all the bla bla bs…….just lose and give you´re self a better chance at having a generational talent…Chi, SJ, Columbus, Arizona have understood that

Its all conjectures.

what if they two extremely high picks? Is a Michkov + Fantili picks + Suzuki package interesting enough for letting go of Bedard?

To move even from the 2nd overall to 1st it would cost us quite a bit

I'm thinking 2nd OA + 1st (FL) + Suzuki + Caufield + Guhle

That's without even cap implications, we'll probably be taking a lot of cap dumps back

How exactly is MTL supposed to "just lose"...did you see the AHL lineup they're icing, the fact teams like Toronto can't beat us is pathetic on their part and miraculous on the habs part.

Because he has admitted on multiple outlets that he is a die hard canuck fan that cried and was upset for weeks over the 2011 loss, lives here and grew up here and who wouldnt want to be a savior? just to name a few reasons.

Lol. What the hell is this.

Ducks won a cup in 2007. Habs haven't won for 30 years. Ducks fans should just be happy with their semi recent cup win and not be greedy.

Just be thankful your draft pick will only be bumped 2 spots down.

What should they do differently?

You would basically have to bring in the Lindros-load

Duchesne
Forsberg
Hextall
Huffmann
Ricci
Simon
1993 1st
1994 1st
15M$

So you begin with a HHOF-player like Forsberg. And then you add two 1st's

And then you add something equivalent of the 15M$ in cash. Like a some seriously cheap deals on proven veterans.
