He knows refs can be wrong. But c'mon if you're going to use that defence, you'll surely admit Charas hit on Henrique was a missed call then right? I mean did he even touch the puck there?
Couldn't agree more. Chara ran at Henrique (don't think it mattered to him who it was) and it was late. Certainly a two for interference.

Chara was looking for a bit of "payback" and Getzlaf rightly called him on it. In my opinion he grabbed an angry tiger by the tail and probably was surprised by the reaction. Angst over Chara not immediately stopping when linesmen stepping in was much ado about nothing -- and certainly nothing new. Linesmen were foolish for stepping in there -- they both were willing and able to go. As you rightly pointed out, that is on the League.

I believe the hit on Backes was late and therefore cheap. Not the end of the world, just an opinion.

One notable poster wanted to tell me my opinion was wrong -- later saying evidence of that was factually supported by the fact the refs didn't call a penalty. Like that somehow makes it a fact. Refs miss things all the time.

Getzlaf might not have been thinking about it at the time, or he may simply have felt he was healthy enough.

I can't answer that. I'd really prefer Getzlaf not fight most of the time anyway, because Anaheim is a worse team when he isn't on the ice. There is no getting around that. He's not a guy who shies away from that type of thing though, and that edge to his game is part of what makes him so difficult for opposing teams to play against, so I also can't complain.
That’s true. But it is Chara, and that’s no disrespect to Getzlaf and his capabilities, but like you said....he just came back from a really back injury and he openly went looking for a fight with a monster, who of course was more than willing to engage. I think that’s what made Getzlaf fall back quickly.

I respect what he was trying to do, I just don’t think it’s the smartest move.

Hah, yeah. He was pissed too, and a pissed off Chara is a force of nature.

I agree with you completely. Respect for the goal, but not really the brightest decision.

Sarcasm, if successful, needs to be subtle. This isn't subtle.
Your backhanded slap towards Getzlaf wasn't exactly subtle either. Loosely translated it reads like "it's okay if Getzlaf wants to be a coward. There's nothing wrong with being a chicken"

Your glib responses here aren't subtle either, so overall on the topic of subtlety maybe don't bring it up.

At least he's being consistent in his contradictory statements.

Easily suspendable hit for Ritchie

And for Getzlaf, I cant really blame him, I seen a lot of slashes go unresponsive. I dont think he expected Chara to try to end him.

You're the last person who should be bringing up "easily suspendable" after defending that Dustin Brown hit on Schultz to the death.

The NHL seemed to agree.

Anyways, don't blame Getzlaf for looking puzzled when confronted. That was a minor chop, dont think he expected something like thatt

Plus Chara already landed 2 good punches on him, think Getzlaf would take that and run rather than drop the gloves and risk injuring his face again.

Unless you have a better angle, i saw a late hit to the (cant tell if it was head ) but it waa definitely high and Ritchie made no effort to hit through the body.
It was slightly late at best... but id put it under the close category. At best it was a 2 min penalty.

But you can save yourself the response cause not going to bother w/you after this post as its pretty apparent if its a duck player its suspendable with you.

The first point of contact is the two men's arms. So yeah that's exactly the effort he made.

And most people that aren't Kings fans think they were wrong. But using your own standard, to this point there is no announcement of supplementary discipline for Ritchie so the NHL says you're wrong.

Do you have a better video for the hit? I slowed it down on YouTube and it looks like itil glances top shoulder to the head.

And the spin from Backes after the hit makes it clear he was hit high. I know the NHL looks for the way a player falls to better determine where they were hit.

That's why i am asking for a better angle cause I cant tell from the videos accurately. No need to be so bitter. I judged by a slowed down video on YouTube and the way he fell.

Shit I could be wrong. Hence asking for a closer better video.

That Ritchie hit was clean as a whistle. Good job on Getzlaf defending his new teammate Henrique, coming back from face surgery and still getting into it. Getzlaf is 3 times the player Chara is now-a-days and not very many captains (if any) would be willing to drop the mitts with Chara. Good on Getzlaf.

Slashes Chara in the leg and then hides behind the refs. What a Captain. Ritchie learned well. Even a midget like Krug will drop the gloves after a questionable hit but this 240lb tough guy couldn’t get away fast enough.
Love that Getzlaf got his **** pushed in a bit. Him and Ducks run around doing shit like that picking on smaller players, acting like tough guys then cower behind the refs when someone equal or bigger comes at them.

Watched it happen all series long last year vs the Oilers.
