More garbage. It never got to that point before the linesman stepped in. A decent human being wouldn't stoop to cheap shots there, but Chara being a half trained gorilla couldn't help from acting hard behind the linesman.

Getz acts normal and somehow is the jerk even though it's his dumbass opponent landing shots over the bouncer.

What? Getz chopped Chara and chara dropped the gloves to turn around and fight. He was probably expecting getsz to reciprocate, instead his gloves stayed glued on and he ate a straight to the forehead for his troubles. If Chara was half the reckless monster you make him out to be hed have a huge pile of half dead nhlers in his wake over the years.

God what a Sally fruitcakes take you had on this "incident".

Your backhanded slap towards Getzlaf wasn't exactly subtle either. Loosely translated it reads like "it's okay if Getzlaf wants to be a coward. There's nothing wrong with being a chicken"

Your glib responses here aren't subtle either, so overall on the topic of subtlety maybe don't bring it up.
It took all the way to the end of page 7 for that to be mentioned. That makes me think that it was perfectly tailored for this audience.

Reminds me of this half-hearted effort by Getzlaf to stand up for a teammate. In this case, Buff destroys Beauchemin, and Getzlaf unenthusiastically goes to challenge Buff. Heart clearly wasn't in it. Probably wished he didn't wear the "C" at that moment.

Is ritchie actually progressing ? I watch 60 Anaheim games a year and he usually looks lost or out of place. Or not even trying.

I'm not a big Ritchie fan so I'm prob a little harsh on him... but he def hasn't found a scoring touch yet.

I will say he got leaner in the offseason and a bit quicker, we have even used him on the PK a bit.... still a monster of a player physically as far as forecheck/hitting/fighting goes... but with the 10th overall pick you hope the offensive side comes w/ that package. He has a good shot, just seems to struggle getting it off. On the + side that means he should be cheap when it comes to resigning him, and honestly I still think he can become a 20+ goal scorer. I also wouldn't be terribly sad if we moved him at the deadline in a package for a top 4 dmen to help balance our defense a bit, we have comtois and jones who also play a similar but faster style to Ritchie.

The anti-fighting crusade by the refs is totally out of control. The league needs more players like Getzlaf and Chara

To be fair to getzlaf big buff might actually be scarier than Chara.

No doubt hes a tank, Im just surprised he's having such difficulty putting his game together. I dont know if it's an effort issue, or just that he doesn't have much hockey IQ. Or maybe both. Its just surprising

Player A takes a shot and gets hit simultaneously.
Player B takes a shot and gets hit half a second later.
Player C takes a shot and gets hit a second later.
Player D takes a shot and gets hit five seconds later.

For the record I am not assigning any of these scenarios to Backes/Ritchie.

My only point is not all these situations are the same OR legal.

Determining which is which is based on....... wait for it....... the OPINION of the referee.

You see it one way. I see it another. Difference is I say my opinion is X. You say my opinion is wrong, and that the FACTS are Y.

You have failed your homework assignment miserably.

In fact you get an F for effort.

The opinion of the referee is that the hit wasn't late, which does in fact make your opinion wrong

(Joke alert) Looked more like some sort of mating ritual...

McQuaid also challenged Ritchie but Ritchie skated directly to the bench. Would have probably been all over if he accepted the invitation.
That would actually be a pretty solid fight id think... but because of the score I don't think Ritchie had interest in fighting... not even sure he realized backes was hurt, he seemed confused people were mad in the first place.

I tend to think its more of an IQ thing, I thought he was going to be the perfect line mate for getzlaf when we drafted him just based on his size/shot and hes a fairly good skater for his size.

It happened during Ritchie's next shift, It wasn't right when the hit happened.

The linesman is there instantly. Chara sees a guy getting hugged by the stripes and decides that's his chance. Gorilla mad!

Yea pretty sure the score was still the same... no need to give boston momentum on a fight, look what happened to kassian in the ducks vs oilers series when he took the fight w/ Ritchie... woke the ducks up... no reason to wake bruins up. Ducks arnt really in a position to give up points to answer a bell if they arnt forced into it.
