Hope Hamilton signs him. That would ease some of his contract that we are on the hook for next year.
In his defense (pardon the pun) maybe he was just too stretched given he was HC and GM as well, especially the last few seasons before naming Shivers as DC. Coordinators have to eat sleep and breath game film and scheme development. I seriously don’t know where he would find the time. Naming Shivers as the full time DC for the season was probably the right thing but for some reason it wasn’t working. Shivers was well liked in Sask when he came over with Jones after the Grey Cup win.
You’re correct. He was stretched in too many directions to be effective. He started to dole out responsibility to coordinators and such when he was taking in water, but, like you said, he still had his finger in on everything and I don’t think he relinquished as much as titles suggested. It’s his Achilles heel.I may be mistaken (people often tell me that) BUT isn't that the reason he left us for Saskatchewan way back when? They gave him complete control where the Eskimos wouldn't? Then on his return "complete control" blew up in his face a second time (Riders being the first).
The only bad thing is how precarious the cfl is, I don’t want him to get his hooks into another franchise and drag them down.Hope Hamilton signs him. That would ease some of his contract that we are on the hook for next year.
I guess Hamilton may as well try something... can't believe he's already back, that's a quick turnaround even for the CFL lol.
What's funnier is that Hervey and Jones hated each other when Jones left for Sask. Now Hervey hires him again lmaoGuy is like a cockroach.

I’m sure he’ll end up being okay, but often guys that come back to the CFL, for whatever reason, often aren’t able to replicate the once was that they had in the CFL.
Rob Van Damme will be at WEM in a couple of days. Thought of you...Riders hey….
Elks hey….
Anyway. What’s everyone up to these days ? Anyone wanna grab Taco Bell with me this week?
Saw that hit hard with Kelly Campbell, Derel Walker, and Aaron Grymes.I’m sure he’ll end up being okay, but often guys that come back to the CFL, for whatever reason, often aren’t able to replicate the once was that they had in the CFL.
It had happened 2 weeks prior as well. Can't even remember the last time the Eskimos came remotely close to 40 points.
Elks never had. Last time Edmonton won three in a row Reilly was QB (2018)When was the last time that either the Elks or the Eskimos won 3 in a row?
Someone on the thread will have the answer.
I thought it was the 19' season. Didn't they go 7-2 and then 2-7 at the back half of the season.
edit: i was wrong. Just looked it up. 8-10 record
Noticed that attendance in 19' before the name change wasn't all that great. Many dates under 30K.
Is he hoping he gets so he can try to get back into Edmonton now that the board is out of the picture. What's funnier is that Hervey and Jones hated each other when Jones left for Sask. Now Hervey hires him again lmao
