Hate To Love is a pretty good documentary on Nickelback and the whole hate thing. It’s on Netflix.
It sounds pretty silly to me. "Sell out of the fans?"

Paul McCartney is worth over 1 Billion. Mick Jagger and Sting each worth over 500 Million. They all like cash just the same way we do. And they play their hits over and over to get that cash.

Nobody goes to a Stones concert and doesn't want to hear Gimme Shelter or Jumping Jack Flash.

The only one who ever objected was Roger Waters and he's nuts.

Haha, I got sucked in. Thanks for correcting. And for sure I won’t be watching. Yuck.
I for one have never really cared about the halftime shows in any league. They seem to be more geared to the people who are stuck watching the game with a loved one or towards people that aren't even gonna watch the game but might actually end up watching some of the game by default because of who the halftime show is.

Half time is to have a bit to eat, go to the can and make sure there is enough cold beer in fridge for the 2nd half.

I only watch the SB halftime show to see how my prop bets do. And if the gal is hot. ;)

And even this is kind of BS. They were always marketed as a mainstream hard rock band and that's what they've always been. They were never meant to be an alternative or avant garde band pushing their artistic limits at all times.

I think it just came from a bit too much overplay of their early hits, then their type of music (along with Creed) became heavily copied filling the mainstream airwaves at the time. After the market got saturated with bands going for that sound, there was a bit of backlash against Nickelback and Creed as the early faces of that generic mainstream hard rock sound.

I'll admit I bought into the "hate Nickelback" hype at times, but really it's just lazy. I don't really like most of their music, but I could say the same can be said about 90% of the music that makes the radio nowadays so "hating" them because of it seems just stupid and lazy.

I've settled on cheering on a group of guys from Alberta that found a way to be very successful at what they do and good for them. Still won't buy any of their music or tickets though.
Well said, really their only crime was having 2 or 3 songs in the top 10 for awhile and the radio stations over saturated the airwaves.

Best one ever was when Shakira and JLo took turns doing a national stage striptease and lap dance where I wondered if the outfits were scheduled to come off by the end of the show. Super exciting.

There's a really good documentary on Netflix about this actually.
Can confirm. Don't like much of their music, but the documentary was very entertaining.

Get rid of their damn OT rules and get a W/L result.

With the requirement to go for 2 points on a TD, it's already a pretty rare occurence (4 times in 10 years) so I'm fine with it. I'd prefer the drives start on the Centre line or at least the 45 forcing a team to at least make a couple plays to secure a field goal or have the degree of difficulty on that field goal to be much higher. I'd also consider a 3rd mini game possibly, but I don't like how a third mini game could let a team add up to 24 points to their score after 60 minutes.

The CFL OT rule is light years better than the NFLs.
